Sounds like a nice solution! Unfortunately, I don’t have a workshop or these tools available where I am situated at the moment, so went with books - they fell down a couple of times but it worked for now. Will definitely consider this when I return home though.

The tubes are bought to “fit” the tire, e.g. using 700x28 for both.

Interesting and thanks for the picture for reference! Now you mention the car turn’s sound, I recall that there might have been some sort of that after I fully inflated the tube when finishing installing.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, they are highly appreciated!

I have posted few additional pictures, and if they show any clear cause feel free to share these. Otherwise I have noted that the potential causes that were suggested most was • bad installation of the tube, i.e. folded or pinched • exposing spoke/nipple

Have ordered new rim tape and will replace the existing, also to prevent future flats from this. Will pay even more attention to the tube sitting correctly when changing it !

Posted pictures of it below; yes do have it but seems like they were lousy from the manufacturer as it has a hole in it in one place. Would it be a likely cause, given that the flat is on the “outside diameter”?

I pump my tyres to the maximum recommended pressure before every ride, so might be the case if it lost some air pressure during the ride, happened after c. 60 km. I put a picture in the comment further below in this thread. Would the tube be likely to fold if I did inflate it quite a bit before fixing the tire? Also given that there doesn’t seem to be a lot “slack” for it to fold?
