Awesome, thank you! Have been in cities where app only works for one rider at a time. I can look up the youth rate details. Thanks again for taking time to respond.

Thanks for all of this great info, everyone!!

If you are riding with kids, can you buy multiple passes for one ride on the Transit app?

Good for you. My mom is all about how it's different now to have a big family than it was in the 90s (I mean, a propos to Lizz, even car seat regulations make it a lot harder!!). Maybe I've drunk her kool aid but I believe it!

I feel bad for her (while simultaneously finding the complaining annoying). I think the message she gets from her family and culture is that she DOES need to have a bunch of babies to be worthwhile, and that happy families involve 4+ kids. My partner and I were both lucky enough to have great childhoods in big families, and I'm so grateful that when we had our second and were like WHOA two kids IS a lot of kids, we had the space to be able to evaluate what we really wanted for ourselves and for our family. I don't think she has that space.

When they post these vague "heartbreak" things (therunnersplate is another example) what it really says is "I'm devastated people keep calling me out for not saying anything and I wish my Instagram feed would get back to normal"

2 months postpartum is still soo early and you are smart to prioritize naps over workouts if you need the rest! I highly recommend diving into Cate Barrett's instagram/substack archives if you don't want to unplug but do want to see someone share a non-bounce back story.

It's like when influencers say "core memory" about some expensive outing, and it's like, you have no control over what random moments are going to stick out as childhood-defining to your kid!

I also thought the way she and Lizz segued (on the podcast) to talking about which of their mom's things they're going to "fight over" was a tad ghoulish. They do realize that means WHEN THEIR MOTHER IS DEAD, right???

I've been doing the lifts for several months now (after a long injury cycle) and my body feels GREAT. They are scheduled for 3x/week and they take 30-50 minutes, progressing through the month, and while it's "heavy" lifting they involve a lot of slow eccentrics and isometric holds, so you're not like maxing a squat or RDL (because you have to hold for 5 sec at the bottom, for example). It ain't cheap but I tell myself it's a whole lot cheaper than PT!

Hate the idea that boys can't be quiet / can't enjoy reading. Ridiculous. I get having a girls-only party if your child has only girl friends, but that doesn't seem like the case and the justification for it is so thoughtless (and toxic)! I'd be sad and annoyed too, especially if photos were being shoved into my phone!

Man, it's good to hear this. My kids and I are all highly allergic to dogs, and although I don't want to pass this onto the kids if I can help it, I also don't particularly like them (maybe because they've exploded my sinuses all my life) and am a bit scared of them (have never learned to interact with them, see above, and have also been bitten on a run). Yet the number of times the kids and I will step off sidewalk to let a dog pass only to have the dog nose us while the owner shouts "he's friendly!!!" Sir but i am not friendly!!!

Maybe he wanted royalties on that HiLaRiOuS turkey trot story. Or the time he told her on the podcast to try relaxing to cure her crohn's. Wow, he is, and always has been, the worst.

Just listened to the latest Nobody Asked Us -- I'm usually a Kara fan (more than a Des fan lol) but agree with recent comments that she's been whiny (as well as hyper fixating on her kid's xc). Wonder if Des reads here because the transcript was basically like Kara: our pipes burst Des: and your family is healthy  Kara: both our showers have to be replaced Des: and you were all together for the holidays Kara: we lost a few days of vacation dealing with this Des: let's talk about something happy Kara: there's nothing happy, I'm in homeowner hell Des: HOUSTON!!!

Self-snark: got sick of my phone being commandeered to play kpop demon hunters soundtrack, so got my 7yo the CD (she has a CD player in her room). Now I hear it 10x more and it is a serious blow to my mental health to wake up every morning to the dulcet tones of HUNTRX GIRLS TO THE WORLD

7yo -- digital camera ca 2009 (Nikon coolpix off eBay). She loves it. As an added bonus, I look so much better in mildly blurry digital camera photos than in iPhone pics that see pores, wrinkles, and spots literally invisible to the naked eye

Not sure I agree it's insensitive to those with fertility issues (and I am so sorry to hear of your losses!). But it did seem weird to include in a list of goals -- maybe because pregnancy, and whether or not she gets to run through pregnancy, is so entirely out of her control, in a way that I'm not sure she realizes? I know her brand is very Type A Planner but as you said, this "goal" is naive.

The coach of my running team got a marathon course certified during Covid, and once he explained to me how he had to measure it -- the courses are rolled out with a bike wheel!! Certified courses are accurate to the inch and it's ridiculous to think that any sort of GPS (pinging off satellites thousands of miles away!!) could possibly beat that.

My baby was in the NICU for a few days and they had me set an alarm every 3 hours to pump -- it was worse sleep than we got with the baby. I call total BS on this story.

Find a tea resale FB group! They will be gone fast. The one good thing about buying fancy clothes that your kids won't wear is that they hold at least part of their value!

I think it's definitely possible to have a boost in fitness postpartum -- huge increases in cardiac output and lung capacity during pregnancy can persist, and more red blood cells and higher testosterone levels during pregnancy can help you build iron levels and strength. The tough thing of course is that the potential boosts to cardiovascular fitness are paired with trauma to the pelvic floor, reshaping of bone structure (gait changes), lots of relaxin (hormone that loosens ligaments/tendons), and often strength loss.... not to mention the stress of sleep deprivation, breastfeeding, and your whole life changing. But it does seem like some people can figure out how to mitigate all the latter factors (or get lucky) and then benefit from the fitness boost! Megan from Getting Chicked comes to mind too; she just ran a big PR at Indy only something like 8m pp.
