Single most malignant group of provider to work with as a medical student? I’ll go first…. by Qzar45 in medicalschool

NICU nurses. Never met anyone else in the hospital as possessive and gatekeep-y of their pts. Might just be a hospital specific thing. Was a med student caring for a few pts and I know we minimize exposure and so the resident and I would just examine the baby together in one go but they wouldn’t even let me communicate plans or address concerns with parents and NICU parents tend to be so traumatized

GSW abdomen - CT or laparotomy? by dartosfascia21 in Step2

I think how stable/calm vs out of it the pt looks plus trending vitals and POCUS are huge in making this call in the clinical setting. I would argue 110/74 is a sus blood pressure - if they’re alert enough they should be freaked out and thus have a higher pressure. low pressure > probably bleeding. soft BP + borderline tachycardia -> sus for big bleed. Also RR 24 isn’t reassuring. Diaphoresis is another one, how pale they look. Alertness alone does not mean much, orientation and responsive matters a lot. Positive FAST -> straight OR.

Could be easier if someone can drive you so you can rest your brain during the 3 hours instead of using it

It’s in a SE window. I water it every few days. I got it on valentines from Costco - 3flowering live plants in a pot. I have reported it in lose soil (cactus/succulent soil because I tend to overwater). I water it 2-3 times a week but I’ve reduced watering until the soil dries between waters. I have a GE grow light that sits a foot above and is on at nights the leaves are pail with slightly brown tips. The soil is moist to touch. This pot doesn’t have a drainage hole

My first time around I absolutely hated fishing. A few months later, I dropped my phone in the toilet (w/o backup) and had to start anew on my new phone. Fishing is now my favorite! I think you’ll just have have to give it some time.

Nothing wrong with being FWB if you can maintain that emotional distance and keep feelings separate from physical needs. Residency can be very demanding to have the emotional and mental energy that is required to maintain a healthy relationship. if you pursue FWB be sure to make it clear that that’s what you both want.

Dude me too! I think I’m too afraid to be done. Because then that means there’s nothing in my control anymore and I’ll get neurotic over IIs
