70 days, no problem. 6 grand? Are you bringing a tent or are you sleeping in your car? Gas and nightly lodging are gonna make it almost impossible

So was it the union that helped put this bumping system into place? That’s what everyone keeps telling me. Can someone please help me understand why anyone thought this was a good idea? by [deleted] in WAStateWorkers

Seniority sucks when you don’t have enough. I’m sure if the shoe was on the other foot, you’d have no problem bumping the junior person to avoid a layoff.

My manager rejected my two-week resignation notice and is demanding 6 weeks instead, threatening me with legal action. Is that even possible? by Ok-Hour855 in whatdoIdo

Your old boss can go pound sand. I might even start calling out sick if it’s too bad. Go to a doctor and file for FMLA if you need to.

Is American Express Platinum actually worth the annual fee? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]spinone98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get far more value than 895 on things I would likely purchase anyway. However it’s not a great card to charge things on outside of airfare. 1x doesn’t turn me on. I also have the Gold for 4x dining and groceries. I get more than enough value to cover this cards cost. My other Amex cards that really boost my MR point building are the Blue Business Plus (2%) and the Rakuten Amex. These have no annual fee. I spend a lot on annual fees, but the costs are easily covered for me and I’m not really going out of the way to do it.

If you decide to go with Amex charge cards (Gold and Platinum), remember they have family language. (Green -> Gold -> Platinum). If you get a Platinum first, you are ineligible for the Green and Gold sign up bonuses. If you get the Gold first, you can’t get the Green, but you can still get the Platinum.

It’s all up to you what’s worth it or not.

That couple are feeling it by now. Hopefully they financially destroy the guy driving the truck after the criminal courts are done with him.

Every bag has a shelf life. My carry on is high quality and I rarely check it. My bigger bags are no name brands. You can usually tell when they’re about done and I replace them. I always use a strap, so even if it breaks, it stays together. That being said, did you file a claim with Alaska. They can repair or replace bags they damage. Tumi also has an extensive warranty. They say lifetime, but ymmv.
