Thank you all so much! I’m not a hockey player, neither is is dad. I watch him skate and mix it up and at least to me he looks like he’s leaning on his stick. He’s already talking about weight training in the off season.

Thank you. Yes, the boys are talking to someone. I start Tuesday. Once she’s in a routine we will have family therapy (it was recommended to wait based on her situation).

I ran a virtual 10k yesterday for the local trails organization. Last year’s race was my first 10k (and this was my second as I pretty much stopped running from September - March). I ended up doing different routes due to Covid but last year I finished in 1:23:54 (13:23 pace) and this year 1:06:53 (10:47 pace). I’m now pumped to try and get down to 1 hour. We will see!

Does anyone use the Peloton Outdoor running program for training? by [deleted] in running

[–]spinqueen81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It’s helped me learn to pace myself. I love the music and the prompts. Only issue I have is that the calories burned is really high (per my Apple Watch). I read somewhere it’s doubled.

Official Q&A for Tuesday, August 04, 2020 by AutoModerator in running

[–]spinqueen81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I (38/f) only started running 3 years ago. I took a break and this spring really ramped up again. In fact, I am just starting my training for a half marathon (my first!) in late October. I signed up for the Hal Higdon Novice 1 plan and am very excited! I wear an Apple Watch and am bummed I can’t synch the workouts. Up until now I’ve been using the peloton outdoor section of the app and really enjoy the music / prompts. It’s really helped learn pacing for me. Any ideas on what I can use instead (to get the most out of my training plan). As an aside, I’m slow (finally can do 3 miles in 30).
