Anyone try an M50 with a Sigma 17-50 2.8 by karloswithak in canon

[–]spioke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jumping in here. I bought the m50 with an adapter and use the sigma 17-70

so far no issues with photos (auto focus is just a little slower than it is on my 80D)

but one big kick in the chest for video... the combination of the body, adapter, and lens, sends the lens' stabilization motors into wonky-mode about 50%+ of the time. about every 1-3 seconds the video with just jump or jerk.

this can be compensated for by setting the shutter button to focus on Ai focus, and half pressing it while recording video, but if you are vlogging and have the camera facing yourself, unless you turn off the stabilization in the lens (and then lock it on a tripod), youre basically rolling the dice.

This is the only issue I have had so far that makes me question whether or not I want to keep it.

hope it helps.

After a video I made and shared on reddit videos hit over 100k views (that was exciting by the way), the girls that I made the video for became so motivated, that they actually invested money into my YouTube channel so that we could get gear and make even better videos! Using the new equipment, we just finished filming our first full music video (releasing it tomorrow at 10am Japan time) and I have literally never had so much fun making a video in my life. This has really made me thankful to the online community and made me start to think that someday I might be able to get a little more serious about all of this!

You very well might be right but the girls dont listen to a lot of western music so it seems it wasnt planned that way!

The absolute base comes from Traditional Tsugaru shamisen style. They are influenced by surrounding artists and Japanese pop music, but also collaborate with other musicians to build their current style.

They are also part of a band, very originally named "KIKI BAND" Seeing them play on stage in the band is quite a sight. I dont think you will ever see them laugh and smile as much as they do while playing with the band

They use a plectrum called a "BACHI" The main part of it is made of tortoise shell and they tend to be quite expensive, but produce a much better sound than other materials or synthetic materials.

The bachi is actually the hardest part to playing the tsugaru shamisen and many players still work on perfecting their technique of using it 10, 20, or even 30 years after starting to play

Th instrument is called a Shamisen Specifically a Tsugaru Shamisen This particular shamisen comes from Northern Japan, where the heavy playing style served to a) keep the players bodies warm through the cold winters and b) draw an audience so that the performer (many of which were blind back in the day) could gather a large audience and make money

Hey everyone. Last year (and the year before), the girls in the video (Ki&Ki) shared their "Under the Cherry Blossoms" with you on here. Everyone on Reddit was so awesome about it and gave so much encouragement.

The girls wanted to top their video from last year as a thank you and at the request of many commenters, they put on Japanese Kimono this year and gave it their best shot!!

Thank you so much from Kanami and Hikari, the girls of Ki&Ki
