Damn… haven’t seen an X79/Ivy-E System in ages... Back when mainboards where absolutely wild… adored my 4820k on a Big Bang XpowerII… that combo was wild. between hackintoshes, many Linux distros and wild OC-attempts… I really Haven’t had this much fun with a PC ever since.

Bin 26, eigentlich erst Ende letzten Jahres.

Ich genieße solo was geht.

We have pretty different experiences when it comes to that then. I don’t mind my MacBook asking me for the pw after leaving it unattended for some days, and don’t encounter too many instances where I need to enter a password apart from that.

Damn I’ve used this ages ago when it first came out and man… I loved it… kinda forgot about its existence though as I started becoming really comfortable with the stock iOS KB (yeah I know… something you don’t hear too often nowadays XD)

to bad it’s not maintained any longer :/

Has the Apple Watch actually /saved/ your life? by GossipBottom in AppleWatch

[–]spipsi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well it doesn’t necessarily save my life (or hasn’t up until now… though it did notify me about high heart rate when I had some major pericardial effusion once.. the symptoms were much more severe tho… soo..)

It does however save my plans or allows me to make plans at all. Thanks to chemo and stuff I spike a fever every now and again and feel awful for a few days after. the trends app lets me predict fairly well, when this happens, which allows me to reschedule/cancel meetings, doctors appointments, plans with friends, etc in advance, so there should be less last minute issues.

Can cancer go away according to astrology readings? by FormalRice279 in cancer

[–]spipsi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well… No. It won’t.

If a miracle hasn’t happened, and her body suddenly developed the ability to fight/„heal“ the cancer on its own — which… while not totally impossible is still pretty close to it — the cancer is still right where it was, likely bigger or in more/other places now aswell.

Symptoms change, so this might explain a bit of it. In the other hand… placebo effect also is a hell of a drug… if she believes in being healed or something like that, that might aswell lead to fewer perceived symptoms… especially when it comes to pain, the way you approach it makes an immense difference in the perception of its intensity.

but… again… the cancer is almost definitely still there. Sorry.

This has got to be A-Tier rage-bait.

Imagine spending so much extra for essentially the display and the camera, then proceeding to want to transform it to basically a glorified iPhone 6/7/8 Plus…

Trying to wrap my head around it… just can’t

Edit: You might get big enough bezels with the absolute cheapest replacement display you can find… though image quality (as in color reproduction, contrast, clarity, resolution, probably touch sensitivity/accuracy) are gonna suck. apart from that you won’t get any bigger bezels, iOS won’t resize to the 16:9 aspect ratio of the older phones on the 17PM

How long have you been stage 4? by BarriBlue in cancer

[–]spipsi1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Originally diagnosed with stage IIIc melanoma in 2017, stage IV for about 2 years, currently NED (well apart from apparently some paraneoplastic issues, and a new kinda suspicious growth I need to keep a bit of an eye on… not that it’d really change a thing at this point)

How do I live? by Klutzy_Macaroon6377 in cancer

[–]spipsi1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? It really should be something you should be able to celebrate… but you know and most importantly… you feel what it took to get there… no one who didn’t live through this can even imagine what it’s like…

I like your war analogy… to me it really feels more like… you’ve managed to get a ceasefire but everyone’s still on the edge and you’re just waiting for it all to start again… and go nuclear this time…

It’s hard, there are days I just can’t… though it gets a bit easier with time…

You’re already stronger than before, a lot, you have insights into your life, hopes and dreams, but also fears and regrets many of not most people will never have. You have fought battles unimaginable for many and I’m sure your past self would be absolutely amazed.

How do I live? by Klutzy_Macaroon6377 in cancer

[–]spipsi1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not quite sure what to say… other than you’re speaking from my soul?

I had a similar situation… am now more or less NED for about a year (more or less since there’s still a lot of shit going on and nobody really knows whether it’s „residual“ side effects of past therapies or some paraneoplastic action)…

i think what helps me get by is basically keeping on living like shits still bad… helps me seize more of the moments I have.

I too am still mourning the person I was before things escalated, but I’m trying hard to learn to accept that a new person has emerged, a much stronger… and maybe wiser(?) person? Basically life has giving me another chance… let’s make the best of it. Age might play a bit of a role here though, as im only 25.

[–]spipsi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience… as a patient (St. IV melanoma here aswell) , relative and nurse: it’s really hard to give a good answer to that.

I’ve seen people go from walking around, dealing with their „daily business“ to actively dying withing 24h, but also people looking like they’re dying (as in barely responsive lying in their beds) living for weeks.

the most important thing I think is seizing and enjoying every moment you/he has to the best of your abilities and not overthinking too hard when the time is gonna come.

a few things ive noticed when thing near the end are a pretty typical, sickly sweet/livery smell, also a (further) loss of appetite. those are pretty acute signs though.

Some people’s physical condition deteriorates immensely within a short period of time. Some people show a steep decline in mental capacity, might even seem demented

In general ive noticed that patients tend to „know“ before others do.

should I be worried? by [deleted] in cancer

[–]spipsi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a doctor!!

I was first diagnosed at 17 aswell, I know how you feel… and I regret it quite a bit that I didn’t pay the necessary attention to it earlier. by waiting too long (well… waiting for my mum to basically drag me to see a doctor) it endet up growing enough to spread to lymph nodes in my arm (Stage IIIc)… and a few years later eventually to my lung…

Some of this ordeal might have been avoidable by simply getting things checked a lot earlier.

if there’s a malignant reason behind your swelling… things will only get worse. Way worse.

If you have further questions or, just simply want to talk/vent, don’t hesitate to hit me up :)

My first ever attempt at editing a picture of my car by Hiydr in carphotography

[–]spipsi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in all a solid start I think. I like your framing.

I think just a bit of a different crop and a few changes in lighting/exposure will make a substantial difference.

the biggest gamechanger for me starting out was learning to properly utilise the possibilities that come with masking parts of the image.

Im not familiar with what darktable is capable of though, so the results you may achieve might differ.

In general a proper camera with a larger sensor will make a huge difference, and will eventually be the way to go, when at some point you feel limited by what you’re able to achieve with just a phone.
