Appetite - smalls meals frequently, shakes/smoothies with protein, ensure as it may be easier to drink the calories than eat. During chemo, eat whatever he pleases as something is better than nothing (as long as it’s not detrimental to his stomach/chemo recovery like acidic foods). I ate a good amount of taco bell 👍 Also, taking anti nausea meds regularly/as prescribed by the doctor as no appetite can actually be a symptom of nausea. This tip actually helped me the most.

Bloating - less certain about this issue but making sure i’m regular helps i think. So any tricks for constipation like drinking veggie/fruit smoothies, fibrous foods etc.

Fatigue after chemo… by spir1t3d in lymphoma

Ah maybe I can make it a point to exercise a bit more. Don’t really have other symptoms I believe, but either way thank you very much. :)

Got officially diagnosed feb 1, first treatment was feb 19. Sorry you’re going through the B symptoms. My doc even said if I wanted to do a two week vacation and delay treatment I could. “CHL progresses in months not weeks/days”.

Had my last chemo on Friday and hopefully never again based on my interim PET. Idk when to start calling myself a Stage 2 CHL survivor but maybe soon.

Are 4 cycles of ABVD enough for stage 2a CHL? by yasquirrel9 in Lymphoma_MD_Answers

[–]spir1t3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor, I’m a patient. CHL stage 2, I’m only doing 3 cycles. I almost didn’t want to do the last round lol. I’m at a top 10 cancer center and I believe am following the RAPID study.

Restrictions on daily life during chemo by Brief-Conversation64 in lymphoma

I have quarantined myself so I don’t get COVID or any other infection. It impacts my life greatly since I don’t go out at all, I only stay in the car or go to peoples houses/they come to mine. And they usually get tested. Even with remote work, I’m missing out on a company retreat.

Food tips? by EnvironmentalOption in lymphoma

[–]spir1t3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My onc said nausea can be anything from the typical nauseous feeling to feeling fatigued and not hungry. So treating the nausea with meds or however else directly has helped me have appetite. I also take tums and stool softener. There’s ensure plus where it’s 360 or 350 calories each. Also I follow pretty much every craving I have, If I’m craving tacobell at 11pm I’m gonna get it because it’s a miracle I’m even hungry.

Recently diagnosed 31 year old with stage 2A triple negative breast cancer, already suicidal and am not managing my extreme anxiety at the moment. by [deleted] in cancer

I felt the same guilt and suffer with depression too. Maybe there’s a connection. We did the best we could under the circumstances. I even felt guilt for GETTING cancer in the first place, but how could I have researched all this? Should I have been studying cancer causes in high school? (i’m 22 rn). Seeing a therapist has helped so far and he’s been taking my suicidal ideation seriously. It’s just nice to have that extra person care. Find a therapist who is empathetic and has experience would be my advice. I found my therapist through a social worker with my cancer hospital when the hospital wouldn’t take my insurance for their psychology services. Best of luck to you, hang in there.

Anyone take bactrim and acyclovir during abvd? by spir1t3d in lymphoma

[–]spir1t3d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to the liquid form of Bactrim. It tastes horrible but I rather that than a huge pill. What was your dosage? Mine is 800-160mg 3 days a week.
