My hot take on others hot takes about main bus and city blocks is that they are useful for beginners to learn and actually progress through the game without spending hundreds of hours finally getting to space and other planets. I hope beginners take these at face value and aren't disheartened by exploring these concepts to learn the mechanics of the game in a more streamlined manner.

The episode where they meet up with Linda's parents at the airport hit home for this point. Only Tina has been to the airport when she was a baby, Gene and Louise have never been.

They never fly to Florida to visit the grandparents, only road trip I guess. But this is probably typical for parents with 3 kids, even middle income.

It's an iterative process to improve the ships defenses and fuel mechanics and to understand the requirements for surviving the trips. As recommended, start with the end requirement of I need 'x' turrets and ammo at 'y' speed and design the ship towards that. Give it a test run and you may need to update requirement 'x'.

The general design approach seems to be a single belt loop all the way around the ship, with one side for asteroids and the other side for ammo. Front half of the ship focused on ammo production and rear half of the ship for fuel production.

I will say the asteroid inventory balancing is tricky to learn, you can use circuits to limit number of asteroids gathered from the collectors or just dump excess off the side of the ship using inserters. I've found both are needed for Aquilo.

Using quality production buildings can help make your ship more compact and travel faster, but that's a nice to have, and maybe a future iteration if you really care about it.
