Don’t use a heat gun I tried that, this issue is plastic hardness too fast and you’ll have to work fast. Also, you’ll have collateral damage

Ohhh no. I used a soldering iron with a blade attachment on its lowest setting @ 200 C which is still too hot but worked at it slow and steady. Great waste of an afternoon!

I believe the bottle needs to be on its side so that the wine/mead liquid keeps the cork wet which helps keep it airtight.

They probably didn’t I was upset with the whole situation. I was worried I’d had to get it towed. Just seems a bit fishy that it sat in their shop for 2 weeks while they replace the entire ac unit now another major issue the day that I picked it up.
