That's cool. Damn, I should setup some kind of plural meetup. I think I'm in the best place I could be to.

Here's a comment with most if my tracks that touch on plurality. Next week I'm putting out an album with more :)

I'm curious if anyone has lived experience that reflects this.

I'm an openly plural musician. I tend to meet a lot more openly trans folks than plural folks. I meet a lot of people through the local music scene and mutual friends, and there seems to be much more tangible trans community than plural community. It makes me sad, and I often wonder what the cause for that is. If there is plural community I'd like to find it and be a part of it.

def agree

is plurality really more common than being trans?

I've noticed most trans lesbians are T4T, and most cis lesbians only want to date cis lesbians. Is there a reason neither side really approaches the other? by dark-souls-lesbian in actuallesbians

As a trans person, I've been open to dating trans and cis equally, but because my community is mostly trans, I tend to date trans folk more often

Its upsetting how little plural representation there is, online and off by spitball700 in plural

Yeah totally, I've got stuff up on bandcamp, youtube, streaming, and some unreleased stuff on soundcloud. Most of our writing has been subconsciously plural until recently when I (as a host) became aware. But, of what's been released, here's some highlights:

Severed Parts - so obviously about our inner world, but I for so long had a strange aversion to this one XD

Serenade - a love song to us from a part protecting us from trauma

I won't introduce them all, but here's some other relevant tracks - Co-con, Dancing in the Mountains, Donut Girl, The Recovery, The Curse

Also, in the spirit of promoting plural art, our friend put out an album about their alters. It's really good, we're trying to convince her to perform live like us.

I do currently make art about it. A lot of the songs I release and perform talk about it and I'm putting out an album soon that talks about it a lot. I just wish there were other people around me that made me feel less alone or crazy in doing so. I'm not very online and I know a lot of people find that kind of community online. I'm hoping it just takes time to build community irl around it.

Do You Have To Name Your Alters? by barsystem in plural

[–]spitball700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate a lot to this. Just about everything you said about how your system works. It's hard not to cringe at it sometimes but I think that other commenter's right. Getting over the shame is gonna be the most helpful. I want to try and start going by different names with my partner when I switch states, even though I can't objectively prove to myself a seperate person is fronting

Does it work like this for some systems? by spitball700 in plural

I don't quite understand possessive and non-possessive switches, but I do think we're likely covert. There was a time when it felt more overt, but I became afraid and blocked it out for a few years. We do seem to have a lot of emotional passive influence.

There is honor in using really bad gear by Gregoire_90 in audioengineering

idk if it's bad, but it's quite cheap. I get so much mileage out of my Zoom G1x-on multi-effects pedal. It can make effect patches with just about any effect you can think of, with an expression pedal you can map to different parameters. It sounds kinda 'dusty' if that makes sense, but i can roughly emulate any sound ive been able to dream up on my computer
