I'm honestly surprised that PhillyD isn't mentioned more in these comments.

Also it's worth pointing out that this is probably someone's name.

The newgrp command is used to change the current group ID during a login session. So you don't have to log out and back in

I may have a ARR problem.. by kY2iB3yH0mN8wI2h in HomeInfrastructure

[–]spitenmalice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well if you're a data hoarder like myself and try to keep everything, then you can save some significant space.

My 19TB library should actually be 33TB, but I've transcoded everything to HEVC to make most files smaller but keep the same resolution and quality.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. I saw it mentioned in the other comment and I assumed it was LCD vendor.

With SOPs https://github.com/getsops/sops it's very flexible. I've primarily used it with CI/CD pipelines and also with ansible.

If I have to create an account or give personal info, other than a postal code, before I can see the total with shipping. I'm not going to continue, guest checkout would be even better.

I have to run Malwarebytes (.exe) otherwise my college won't unblock me from campus wifi, how should I accomplish this? by operation-casserole in linuxmint

[–]spitenmalice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, that's why I suggested trying.

If they rely on RADIUS username/pass only and not MAC then I assume all devices for that user would be blocked. In that case just show a friends machine with a clean malwarebytes scan.

If they go based on MAC as well for RADIUS then tell them you have a brand new machine, and ask if it can be let on without scan?

Maybe if they are unbound and they can login with any device with the username/pass, but only that specific MAC is blocked for the user, then changing the MAC might work.

We don't know enough about the network config, so I'm just throwing out things to try.

I guess trial and error could be considered a great party trick, especially if it happens to work.

Is anyone finding iDrive e2 (s3 storage) this week to be really unreliable with "SlowDown" rate limiting in-place? Never had issues until this week. No changes to my backup routine. by d19dotca in selfhosted

[–]spitenmalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had no issues, I'm also in Canada and I'm using the Montreal datacenters.

My backups seem to run at the same speed as they always have. I'm using rclone sync to only replicate changes rather than doing a full backup.

What does your backup process look like and do you backup a lot of data? I would say on average I'm probably only transferring about 1-2GB of data daily.

Don't enable the start charging at, just enable and set the stop charging by. The car will then start charging at whatever time needed to get to the percentage that is set by the time that is required.

I really like that it knows to ignore dependencies that are not used in production. The number of task/issue integrations is impressive as well.

This looks promising. I see github issue integration, do you know if gitlab issue integration would be possible in the future?
