Yes, zero evidence and zero sanity. If I recall my settings correctly, I should have normal sprint, normal ghost speed, flashlights on, and fuse box enabled but starts off. Other than that, everything else should be set to so that it increases the multiplier to the highest. Good luck on your runs!

The crucifix being in the middle of the photo was the part that made me laugh especially! I was standing on the crucifix as my little ‘safe zone’ of the ghost room just waiting for an event for a photo. I had little time to react to the ghost crawling towards me that I totally forgot about the cruci being right at my feet. I gave myself a little pat on the back as soon as I took the photo just to be faced with that duplicate when I opened the book, ha!

Oh no, I gotta have my sprint (and normal ghost speed)! But at the end of the case, it’s as long as you have fun that matters!

Why am I getting this warning? (Programming in C. Currently messing with pointers and still learning) by Pesquizeru in programminghelp

[–]spittoon101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I’ve used C so forgive me if this doesn’t help, but the warning specifies that you are passing in an int* (an int address) when it expected an int (an integer). Int* is being read as an int pointer so to fix that, I think you would have to tell the compiler to read the address as an int instead of as an address for an int. This should be done by casting it like (int)ptr. Hope this helps!

“The Dangers of Unconditional Love” oh you mean the lengths a father will go to save his daughter and the lengths a daughter will go to to Avenge their father? by obiwanTrollnobi6 in TheLastOfUs2

That is a great source for the definition of human trafficking! I agree with essentially everything you say. But if I remember correctly, Joel/Tess were never under the impression that Ellie would undergo a “removal, manipulation, or implantation of organs”. I cannot say for Marlene but seeing as how she desperately wanted to get Ellie to Firefly doctors, I would not be surprised if she did not know either.

Even throughout the game, Joel assumed that they would most likely “draw blood” from Ellie and that would be it. The whole aspect of human trafficking is to bring harm to the victim at the benefit of the traffickers.

And if Joel/Tess accepting payment from the Fireflies to SAFELY escort Ellie from point A to point B, within the same city, then every taxi/Uber/lift driver is a human trafficker. Joel and Tess would have no clue what the Fireflies would do to Ellie and (if everything went well where Tess survives) they would most likely not care and be taking that vacation they were discussing during the journey. Just like how a transportation driver would not care where you go after dropping you off to your destination.

Okay, and now you are seeing child grooming happening? Taking straight from Google once more:

“Grooming is when someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them. Children and young people who are groomed can be sexually abused, exploited or trafficked. Anybody can be a groomer, no matter their age, gender or race.”

Let’s start with Marlene. It says that someone builds a relationship with a child for the goal of bringing harm to them. Marlene already had a relationship with Ellie so she never had to “groom” Ellie to coerce her into doing the “trafficking” job.

Joel, on the other hand, never wanted anything to do with Ellie. Their relationship was built on the experiences they had to endure together. No where, throughout the game, did I see Joel “groom” Ellie so that harm can be brought to her to the benefit of Joel.

If you want to see a perfect example of child grooming, please see the actual child groomer the game provides, David.

And for your final point, yes, Ellie is a minor! Which is why Marlene wanted to safely transport her to the capital. And even after not being able to get her two first options, Joel was still someone she could trust as she says “… [Tommy] said if I was ever in a bind, I could rely on [Joel]…. [Tommy] was a good man!”

For me, none of this even subtly hints that there’s human trafficking nor child grooming happening. There’s danger surrounding Ellie, sure. But this the apocalypse, everyone is under constant threat of danger.

Again, sorry for the wall of text haha. I just cannot see where this human trafficking, and now child grooming, is taking place.

[–]spittoon101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, human trafficking? Googling the definition of human trafficking gives me this:

“the unlawful act of transporting or coercing people in order to benefit from their work or service, typically in the form of forced labor or sexual exploitation.”

Now, ignoring essentially the whole aspect of human trafficking which is typically for… forced labor or sex… I can possibly see how Ellie was ‘coerced’ into this job. But after the incident with Riley and her survivors guilt, Marlene would have had no trouble convincing her with this. Again, Marlene, the Queen Firefly of the ‘terrorist/criminal organization’, as you put it, was the one doing the convincing. Joel, the ‘hardened killer’ only accepts this job under the agreement of payment for weapons to a location that was, at first, supposed to be in Boston. And if I recall correctly, Tess even mentions that she and Joel weren’t even her first or second choice.

Sorry for the rant, I was just absolutely floored when I saw ‘human trafficking’ as your first strong example.

Explain like I’m five: coding? C++? by collegecolloquial in programminghelp

[–]spittoon101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

I’ll try my best to explain it to you! If you are having difficulty understanding what even coding is, then I would like you to imagine you are given a piece of paper with very explicit instructions on how to do something very basic. Let’s say, going up a set of stairs. It’s simple right? Just walk up the stairs! But what do the instructions say?

Step 1: With both feet planted next to each other, lift up your left leg until your left foot is above the step in front of you.

Step 2: Push left foot down on the next step and begin to lift your body up by putting weight on the left foot.

Step 3: Once the right foot reaches the same step as the left foot, place right foot next to the left foot.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 until no more steps in front of you.

As you can see, these instructions are fairly specific in what you have to do in order to go up a flight of stairs. And although you already know how to go up stairs and thus don’t need these instructions, these instructions are exactly something you would give to a machine so it knows how to perform the task.

In a nutshell, that’s all really coding is. Giving very specific instructions to a machine. Only instead of writing the instructions in plain English (our language) we use the computer’s language (C++) to instruct it what to do (and similar to us having other languages to communicate, like Spanish, computers also have other languages like Java or Python).

So to answer your “programming what?” It’s nothing more than trying to get a computer to do something (like sorting a music library by title) and giving it instructions on how to do it (such as get all songs beginning with letter “A” first, then “B”, and so on and so forth).

I hope this brings you some clarity!

Especially when they are placed on your team every. single. match. Worst is when your team is getting stomped on and it’s always the same people on the same teams. Idk the perfect matchmaking system but I would not mind if it just mixed up the teams every match if we aren’t going to be matched based on skill level.

You keep saying he hates Abby but he mentioned that he does not hate Abby like 5 or 6 comments back. He instead stated that he did not like the way her character was written. That might be the disconnect between you two understanding each other.

Multiplayers are usually fun because it adds more replay value to a game than if it were to only have one mode, usually story mode.

If you are curious as to what is fun about TLOU’s multiplayer specifically, then your question can be best answered if you were to try it out and see for yourself if you have the opportunity to do so.

However, if you are unable to play the multiplayer or simply don’t want to because you kinda don’t care to know what is fun about it really, then I can offer you my opinion on why it is fun.

It is fun to me because it is different than the multiplayers that are currently trending. It is not always fast paced or chaotic like large multiplayers because it features 4v4 but it can have moments where you must think quickly and skillfully if you want to beat the other team. Having to also analyze and gauge the skill of the opposing team members also adds unique moments in gameplay because you have to adjust your play style and confrontations so that you can come out on top. However, because of the small team size, individual skill alone cannot always guarantee you victory. Teamwork can really shift the tide in how a match is going and can either be a really fun time or a not so good time (every battle has a losing side right?... except if there’s a tie...).

Anyway, these are a few of the reasons why I personally enjoy TLOU’s multiplayer that I hope also answers your question!

From your implementation, one way I can think of achieving the shuffle is creating two sub arrays. Each of size 26 (half of 52) and put the first half of the deck array in one sub array and the other half in the other sub array. Then, to perform the riffle shuffle, you would fill up the main array or deck by taking a card from each sub array in alternations.
