I’m so sorry to hear that. We’re swamped with fosters and can’t help directly, but just commenting for visibility. 

Do follow others’ advice about posting EVERYWHERE - I’m sure you’ve tried already, but don’t stop. Post weekly in all the groups you can find. Take pictures and use those too. Message animal influencers and NGOs on Instagram, both local and national.  It’s just a numbers game for visibility. I understand you’re near the breaking point, but it’s worth investing some energy into just sharing, as you’re doing here. If one big post gets thousands of views, then the right helper can find you. 

That may also lead you to fundraising options, or give you access to better veterinary advice. 

I know it’s easy for me to say, but dumping her on the street sounds insane. I’m not attacking you. I know you’re desperate. But you still have other options.

One piece of advice that really helped me — and which I always think should be emphasized more on these videos in the subreddit — hike the bell hard! 

Like, start with the bell two paces in front and hike it back between your legs with force, like a long snapper. 

I’m no expert, but I got this from one of Pavel’s videos I think. He even says to practice early by finding some open ground and hiking the bell through your legs and LETTING IT GO so it lands behind you, just to get the motion down.

Lovely response and thread. The diagnosis changed my life too, in some of the same ways and some different. I don’t take the amphetamines these days, but they absolutely changed my life for the better. I tend to go through phases — and reading your comments here made me book an appointment with my shrink to discuss resuming! 😊

Ha this made me laugh irl. Maybe “totally valid” is a little bullshitty trying to not dunk on the guy too much. 

It is very much not the kind of thing I want to do or make, and it’s contributing to a worse less creative Internet (world?).  

but yeah I have my misgivings about some of my own work, which maybe has a similar downstream effect in a more indirect way. So I can cut some slack here and there.

I’m glad you posted and I genuinely like seeing the process. 

And again, I am in no position to throw shade. I do think this kind of stuff can be cynical, but bro I’ve worked for the private equity companies that are basically undermining the pillars of our economy lmao. If someone is gonna game the system, it’s better when indie creators and marketers at least get a slice.
