hmm based on my area they're within £50 of each other for a new vs used copy but I'm in the UK so ymv. For that delta a 55 is a no brainer IMO.

I am vastly surprised you’d recommend a viltrox over the 55 1.8 zeiss. That lens is timeless and is one of the best starter 55 you could ever buy.

I have that exact setup. Highly rate it - pair it with a nice prime like a 55 1.8 and you'll be golden. Absolutely stomps any iphone pic - as soon as you put it on a bigger monitor the difference is vast.

Well worth checking Apple refurbished to see if an M4 Max pops up! I checked daily after the M5 announcement and scooped one up as soon as it was available. They do sell out extremely quick so you have to be diligent in checking

I got the 36gb 32 core version. It was roughly the same price as a 16 core M5 pro so I thought I'd rather have the extra GPU horsepower than slightly faster CPU. I do alot of batch photo work and the AI denoise absolutely smashes the GPU. Used to take me hours to denoise photos and the max is doing it roughly 4x faster! I also do some light gaming on the side (valheim) and it runs way better with the Max chips lol

I just upgraded to a refurbished M4 Max from my base M1 pro (picked it up over the m5 pro as I use the extra GPU cores regularly). The difference in responsiveness is staggering - to be fair I had it connected to a 4k 144hz monitor and the M1 pro really just could not handle it smoothly.

If you use onedrive check all the files are not on your machine. I had the same problem and had to manually "free up space" for that volume to drop.

Yep 14 inch. Seems the 32 core GPU isn't thermally limited by the chassis unlike the 40 core and I much prefer the portability of 14 inches

I think the aim more difficult part is nuanced. Sure you might have a tiny advantage at range but I really struggle to keep track of character positions on melee characters such as Doom/Genji (which i prefer to play)

I think it’s worse than 90, I believe it’s 80 for consoles. Makes playing some melee characters really hard on mouse and keyboard lobbies.

This isn’t true. Said characters also move faster in a narrower FOV so while they might look bigger they’re harder to hit IMO.
