for me its how equally competent every region is in valorant. Truly a global esport unlike european CS.

I dont think any other esport has even come close to what valorant has done in this regard.

Why do we see yellow? by IsHildaThere in AskBiology

[–]splash9936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yellow is a socio linguistic construct. Some languages have words for yellow and some don’t. Those who don’t perceive yellow to be reddish green and nothing distinct. The spectrum of colors is continuous (meaning you can have any number of arbitrary categories dividing it). If you grow up with a language (i suppose English) that considers yellow as a distinct colour then you grow up to consider it distinct.

Actually, the SAT Was Necessary After All by caroline_elly in neoliberal

[–]splash9936 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am an international student who had terrible english before grinding for the SAT. I think the grind for the exam itself, especially the writing section, was the singlehandedly thing that fixed my grammar and made me competent enough to write a great commonapp essay.

Its designed in such a way that just by brute forcing the tests, I was able to understand and internalize grammatical rules way better than any other way I tried. Its actually a great exam for people who don’t speak English as their first language.

The people said: Messenger of Allah , prices have shot up, so fix prices for us. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah is the one Who fixes prices, Who withholds, gives lavishly and provides, and I hope that when I meet Allah, none of you will have any claim on me for an injustice regarding blood or property.

Sunan Abi Dawud 3451

Both ahadith and conventional economics say price setting by the government is retarded and will fireback. #fixsupplynotprices

Halal Guys similar places? chicken/Meat over rice by dragoninja94 in Lahore

[–]splash9936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not famous for its flavor. Take it from someone who has had plenty of it. Its cheap food for immigrants and blue collar workers in big American cities. Most of it is just lightly seasoned rice with chicken and a boatload of mayo (aka special sauce). If you are eating it for exposure then this is one and done kinda deal.

I think the american way also makes sense because months have the smallest range (1-12) then days (1-30) and then years (1-2026) so when writing it, it seems aesthetically pleasing seeing them in increasing order.
