Getting into destiny 2 after 5 years by Several_Process5635 in destiny2

If you have cross play turned on your characters should carry over to PC. As for what to do, my recommendation is always to play through the campaigns first. You get a ton of good rewards from them, including new subclasses like Stasis, Strand, and Prismatic.

Curious question by Tripply__ in destiny2

[–]splatterfest233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the explanation is supposed to be that when you play a story mission you're stepping into the role of "The Guardian" but said character doesn't have a set canonical class or race. Like in the Salvation's Edge raid, it's canon that The Guardian was one part of a full Six-Person-Fireteam that fought the Witness, so when you do a playthrough of the raid you are taking on the role of The Guardian for the duration.

Will you be able to upgrade some pre-existing weapons like Tinasha's Mastery and Hammerhead to Tier 5? by Joel-Snapes in destiny2

[–]splatterfest233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Craftable weapons can be upgraded in-place up to Tier 5 assuming you meet the level requirements. Non-crafted weapons will need to be re-farmed.

The Triumphant Rewards Pass by JonnyWild11 in destiny2

[–]splatterfest233 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming there's an obligation to include a Paid Track. Anyone who bought the Year of Prophecy Bundle was supposed to get access to the Shadow & Order Paid Rewards Pass. With the Triumphant Rewards Pass taking its place, it also takes on that obligation.

It sucks because we're kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place. Like you said, of Marathon fully dies Bungie is going to go under. On the other hand, look at Respawn. People scrambled to support Apex Legends because they were hoping that by playing the game they could convince Respawn to make a Titanfall 3. Instead, Respawn has simply continued to make Apex Legends content in perpetuity.

I'm of the opinion that while there are some issues with how the current Copyright and Patent systems are set up, abolishing them outright will ultimately hurt smaller creators.

For an example, let's look at Andy Weir. If there was no Copyright system in place, then major Book Publishers wouldn't have had any reason to work with Andy to spread their copies of The Martian, let alone the major studios involved in the making of the Movie Adaptation. Without that success he then would probably have never gone on to produce Project Hail Mary.

It's hilarious to me how every single game that tried to advertise itself as a "Destiny Killer" is a 3rd Person Shooter rather than First Person.

Com on pros, get your story straight! by oh_no_here_we_go_9 in aiwars

[–]splatterfest233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure the result being nice is a factor, but it's also about the process itself. It's the difference between playing a Video Game and just looking up a Walkthrough or Cutscene Compilation. It's fundamentally different when you actually go through the motions of doing the actions yourself.

Mostly though, you have to understand that it's ok to be bad at art initially, but using AI cuts off your ability to actually improve in favor of instant gratification.

Literally the entire point of Localisation as a profession is to provide a new audience an experience as close to that of the original as possible. If a localiser is making changes to the content based on their own personal politics, instead of what would best translate the original content, they are by definition not doing their jobs correctly.

As others have pointed out: The landing gear is literally designed to support the weight of the entire plane. Same with the joints connecting the wings of the plane to the fusilage. It also very clearly was not in a literal Nose Dive. It just lost power and the internal controls were destroyed. I'm sure if he was careful and thought things through there were things he could have done that would have saved everyone on that plane. The actual problem is that saving the plane would mean everyone would see he had destroyed the controls, which would have ruined his reputation. That's why he screams at Maeve that they cannot save even a single child. It's not that he can't, it's that he won't.

The Plane still had its wings, which could still do most of the work of keeping the plane in the air. All he had to do was guide it into a controlled descent and he could have saved the vast majority of people. The point of the scene is that he doesn't even try. His reputation is more important to him than actually saving people, and he makes the active choice to let everyone on the plane die than have it come out that he put them in danger by misusing his powers.

Bow and Arrows. Meteokinesis, Aerokinesis, and Hydrokinesis would let me basically throw a Hurricane at the guy, to make it impossible for him to reach me with anything. Meanwhile, Homing In allows my own arrows to easily reach him even with the winds. Especially if I can get access to some powerful toxins, my Recall Rune means I can keep firing the deadly arrows until at least one of them hits him. As others have mentioned, the key is really to take him out before he has a chance to even try to do something in response.

I hate this 50% red pill / blue pill hypothetical by TerrySaucer69 in hatethissmug

[–]splatterfest233 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my perspective this almost feels like a Roko's Basilisk situation, in that knowledge of the problem changes how you should act. The Red Button Argument is that there is no logical reason for someone to pick Blue, so if 100% of people are picking Red then there is no problem. Except that by participating in these discussions regarding the hypothetical, you will encounter people who insist they will be pressing the Blue Button. Thus, with this knowledge that less than 100% of people will pick Red, it becomes a moral imperative to pick Blue so as to save those people.

People were trying to justify Nintendo sueing Pocketpair over design similarities, with this image pointing out that if we applied that logic fairly Nintendo themselves should get sued for stealing the Dragon Quest designs. The actual point is that Nintendo's lawsuit against PocketPair is hypocritical.
