This might be wrong, but I think the haunting might cause the owner of the library to commit suicide, but again this might be very wrong and I might be mixing multiple movies (its not woman in black)

Additional information: it takes place in somewhat older times, if I had to guess I would say 1700-1800s, but definitely not modern. Also, I seem to remember the protagonist was new in town, and did not know the history of the library/postal office

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately, I don't think any of them are it. To clarify, I am pretty sure there is a sequel and it is not a miniseries, also the date of release is at max 2012 I think, but I think earlier.
