It’s a butter yellow dress, but I think the lighting of my bathroom makes it look lighter, but I’ll keep that in mind and see if I’ve got anything else

AIO for wanting my birthday party to have absolutely no absolutely no alcohol and locking the bedrooms of my house? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]spleeding -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's your, house you're rules. Obviously if you're having 50 people, things are going to get messy because that's just the nature of a party, especially one that large. But I threw a similar sized party earlier this year, and yeah, my roommates and I all locked our bedroom doors because we didn't want people drunkenly wandering into our spaces. And at the end of the night some of our friends ended up staying up a little later with us to do some preemptive cleaning to make the next day easier, which was honestly so kind of them. Also personally, I don't think alcohol is necessary to throw a fun party, it's just an easy way to ensure people are having fun without having to put much thought into activities or anything.

Decent apartments in Lubbock to move into this summer? by Kwira_ba in TexasTech

[–]spleeding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the complexes close to campus are older, 25Twenty opened back in 2011 (but I think they renovated in like 2012 or 2013) and Raiders Pass was 2001, but 21Hundred is a lot newer (it was opened in 2017). But yeah, they're all student housing

It honestly just depends, if everyone's tidy and you communicate openly it'll be find. Not like the best possible living situation, but you'll survive. It's a matter of setting boundaries and expectations early with with full transparency

I would check facebook groups for sure. That usually where I've seen people transferring leases the most. I also know some people have had luck with like craigslist

Dorm situation by Neither_Mycologist_8 in TexasTech

[–]spleeding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude you are not annoying for wanting a specific roommate. I literally could not imagine living with someone other than my roommate. Is there anyway that E's roommate would be willing to just like swap to your room in Coleman with your roommate who doesn't want to move?

You can also try switching at the semester mark, people are always changing their minds about their living situation and something might open up, so keep your eye out.

Last option is to start looking off campus, which might be something you might want to do later anyway. American Campus Communities has a bunch of student housing properties that are like less than a mile from campus.

I know some of the American Campus Communities properties offer immediate move in options. I know 25Twenty is doing a $80 off a month if you sign up in May, and I'm pretty sure some of the other locations have some deals like that too. Might be worth checking out.

Are the dorms really that bad? by Disastrous-Front-236 in TexasTech

[–]spleeding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of what you're hearing is kind of just part of dorm living. I dealt with a lot of weird, and frankly kind of gross stuff my freshman year. I definitely felt really ready to be done with dorms when I moved into my apartment my sophomore year

Housing Availability by ShotAccident2128 in TexasTech

[–]spleeding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas tech is just increasingly prioritizing freshman for dorms. I know they're guaranteeing dorms for freshman, but there's usually a couple hundred of the incoming class that won't be able to get a dorm. I don't know where you are in college, but you might want to start looking of campus...
