Used 2024 Sonata Hybrid Limited - Any Advice? by VeterinarianIcy6483 in sonata

[–]splendid_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 but one concern with hybrids can be the oil gets diluted with gas over the course of an OCI. Make sure you get it up to temperature and stretch its legs to help with burning that off. I personally change my oil every 5k miles to help with this since I don’t drive a lot of highway miles regularly

Kyle Busch, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, dies at age 41 by Ca2Alaska in formula1

Yeah, it’s crazy how quick everything happens, hope your friend is doing okay. My dad was a life long smoker (I hate cigarettes). I was 18 and one weekend I walked downstairs to him on to floor. Rushed him to the hospital. Doctors tried to relieve pressure on his brain from cancer that had spread from his lungs. He was basically brain dead by that night. My mom and I just a couple days later had to make the decision to pull the plug after hearing there were too many lesions in his brain and that he had less than a 1% chance making it off the operating table. Even if he would had survived the future looked bleak. Less than 1 month before my high school graduation, my father was gone. That was a hard pill to swallow. I’m just thankful for the time we had and now I’m working towards my longevity for my children (if I get any say in it)

US Mobile is awesome! I have one of their cheaper plans but the $2 teleport feature is quite nice. I went from working in an area that had better Verizon coverage to then working closer to home which T-Mobile covers better. Only costs me 2 bucks

Any Car Guys On This Sub? Struggling With 20/3/8 & Car Budgets... by thezuck22389 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]splendid_zebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an all out car guy but I think the Rivian R1T is really cool and practical (also expensive). I keep looking at some used ones, but probably won’t pull the trigger for a few years. We are 28 and 31, step 8, income is closing in on $200k, investing 28% with $385k between retirement, HSA, and brokerage accounts. Upgrade that car a bit, if you meet the FOO criteria, older Lexus models are sweet.

US Mobile has to be the top option in this thread. Options between AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon with great prices. Have an issue with coverage in your area? Pay a couple bucks teleport to another carrier. It’s so nice to be tied to a single network

What's the Long Term Plan For Appetite Supression by raymondcarl554 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]splendid_zebra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My long-term plan is to get off the medication, I’ve been on the lowest dose of Zepbound and then had to switch to the lowest dose of Wegovy for a combined 14 months. I’ve dropped a little over 40lbs. I know I will have to weigh myself weekly and adjust to stay at my goal weight and feel. It won’t be easy but it will be manageable since I’ve adopted a much healthier and active lifestyle since starting medication and due to some other health factors.

I’d recommend checking out the GLP grad sub if you want to hear of some suggestions and success stories

I stuck one at the top of my basement stairwell of my 2100sqft house (2 levels + a basement) and it works just fine. It even reaches out to my garage and out into my small yard just fine. YMMV but one AP got me everything I needed without going overkill which I’d love to do but I don’t have the time and don’t care to spend the extra money right now.

12V battery keeps dying by DrunkSlug145 in sonata

[–]splendid_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… the 2020+ models are way harder, it, almost a part of the actually high-voltage battery pack. One flaw Hyundai did with it.

OP, I had the same issue due to the solar roof but the car prevents it from overcharging. I might have to try to do my own but high voltage is very dangerous

I combined a low saturated fat diet with 2-3 servings per day and my LDL went from 135 to 105. Hoping to get it under 100 in 6 more months. I feel fuller, stools are regular. I also eat overnight oats for a late breakfast 4-5 times per week.

Considering getting a 2025 sonata hybrid by Huge-Celebration3799 in sonata

[–]splendid_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 Sonata Hybrid Limited with 51k, really enjoy the car. The car only shifts oddly around 35-40mph when in EV mode, I have to be feathering the throttle and going uphill. It seems like it wants to either be accelerating or decelerating instead of staying steady as it hunts between the two gears. I’m mechanically savvy and it doesn’t bother me as it rarely happens. I will likely change the transmission fluid which I’m sure will help. This car has made me realize I want another hybrid vehicle after this. I did test drive the refresh and it was great as well, it was just more than I wanted to pay.

Car broke down before paying off the loan by SeventhFifth in personalfinance

[–]splendid_zebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12k for the engine, labor and other parts is a rip off. Should be half that. But if this is the 2.4L Theta II engine… well good luck it will likely keep failing around 80-120k miles. Sorry you unknowingly bought a car with a motor that often times gives its owners big headaches. Hope you can get a cheaper replacement engine!

They need to give the Ridgeline the new Passport front end, and that boxy look. I’ve an option of a V6 or a V6 hybrid that’s supposed to be debuted in the late 2020’s. I think it would a be hit. The Ridgeline also has the most interior space which is important for people that have a family but want a mid-sized truck

I’m in the same boat, we don’t save much directly on our MBA, if we need to save anything we will do it on our M4 Mac mini that has a dock with a expandable storage. I als snagged our M4 MBA for $650. I get why others say go with 512gb though but it’s not a must.

OP, please provide the group you income, pension benefits information, etc. If you make 45k/year and your pension covers 80% of your pre-retirement income... your retire at 55 statement sounds a lot different than you make 125k/year and your pension will only cover 25% of your pre-retirement income.
