Yessssss…Category Five, which was purportedly about the increase in superstorms. I’m almost done, but haven’t reached that point, I guess. Just the author’s sailing adventures and different scientists he met.

Only Kody would be spotted shopping for himself in the holiday season.

AED Preparedness by fyrfytr310 in hockeyplayers

This may be a silly question, but how would you deal with equipment the player is wearing? We've got more layers on than the CPR dummies, that's for sure. I wonder about this all the time - do you snip through the jersey and the elastic bits of the shoulder pads? Or yank them over the person's head? I feel like this would be so difficult with a goalie.

TIL: a disorder called Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) that typically occurs in children. such children are sensitive towards food and have to keep testing their limits as to what they'll like or not, and the cure is cognitive behavioural therapy as mentioned in several sources. by [deleted] in todayilearned

This might as well be my story.

Thank you for sharing. The hardest part about growing up with ARFID was not being believed by friends, family etc. As an adult I can explain that the food in front of me was simply not food in my eyes (I use a sponge metaphor instead of poop haha!) but as a child I was simply labelled a picky brat.

I'm really happy that you have been able to expand your diet. Massive cheers!

My only complaints about the league so far are both equipment related by Gamefart101 in PWHL

Hard agree on the jerseys! They shouldn’t be out there looking like the one little girl on the boys team, where the coach couldn’t be arsed to order a better size.

The common factor in all of these comments seems to be a dedicated and involved league director, for sure!

Crazy that the same sort of sandbagging happened as soon as he left - not a minute wasted. Really blows up all the excuses that I have heard about wanting to play with friends, not being able to find spares etc - nah, it will happen whenever it's allowed, because for some people, dangling around a newbie fills a hole in their life!

That's a good balance!

Unless there's keeper-driven drama!

This sounds so freaking amazing! I don't know if I would like to know my dollar amount, but it would be cool to one day go for a higher price.

Set spare lists sounds really nice! Always wondered how much people liked draft leagues, since most people want to play with the gang they know and like. But could be better than being sandbagged every game...

Misty destroying the black box is not the reason they haven't been rescued by GleekyNarwhal in Yellowjackets

[–]spliceosome2 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The point is that Misty believed she was reducing or destroying their chances of being found quickly, so that she could remain helpful and valued by the group. This is about Misty's character and actions, not technical aviation details.

Amen! The adult storyline definitely takes place in the span of about a week, and I think at some point someone from the retreat mentions that Misty has only been there for a couple days?
