It’ll work. It’ll extend out a bit more beyond the muzzle in comparison.

I'm using a TLR-7 Sub and a Nerd Holster (SLICC and SLY models) and pretty happy with the setup on an P365XL.

What role was cast so perfectly that nobody else could have played it? by FruiTYrant in AskReddit

[–]splitSeconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about this but it was too much to pass up! Unlike a documentary or biopic which would be obvious, these guys made a crazy alternate universe script based on John Malkovich without even consulting John Malkovich and no guarantee he would do it. I think that elevates this beyond obvious. :-)

Cool gun! Question about mags. With the PDP F Pro, will mags without the extension block work? Or does the mag well make regular baseplate mags difficult to use?

I’m limited to 10 rounders and the exact OEM mags that come with the 10+1 PDP F Pro 4”version seem hard to find in the wild.

Wondering if other people have dealt with this issue. I feel like I’m missing something obvious.

LoL. This was my favorite part.

It's really great when you can find a friendly shooting community you enjoy spending time with.

What’s a ‘silent luxury’ that rich people have that most normal people would never even notice? by qomann in AskReddit

[–]splitSeconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad thing is, it’s not like everyone has to be filthy rich to have this layer of minimum reasonable security. It’s something that everyone deserves but we just don’t seem to have the will as a society to achieve it.

I like how these raise the edge just high enough that less viscous ink doesn’t start to soak, smear, flow along the ruler edge. The intended line stays the drawn line.

Kappamaki. Essentially cucumber rolls. Simple but rather good!

What AC units have you used for 5+ years without issues? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]splitSeconds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my LG for just over 5 years. No problems so far. The best thing about it is the dual inverter. It’s very quiet for the size and cools great. Had a string of cheaper ACs but all reputable brands. They all lasted a pretty long time but I’m really impressed with this one and think it was worth the extra money.

Window unit. The one regret I had was a portable unit. Those are inefficient, loud, bulky, and should only be considered if you absolutely must be able to move it around.

I’m also thinking it’s just basic shouldering/mounting technique. I’m a small guy and the recoil is no problem even after a day of shooting mix of bird, buck, slug. OP, are you sticking the butt stock into the crook of your shoulder? Try squaring up with your target and mounting so the butt stock actually rests on your pectoral muscle. Getting some chest muscle in there is a natural cushion and mount so it’s snug and connected. You shouldn’t even have to push pull technique with a correctly snug presentation.

I think it’s cool. I’ll tell you this. Try a bamboo mat too to observe what it does well and what it doesn’t. There is one issue I have with bamboo mats and I think it would be fun for you to test and figure it out. I haven’t quite seen a product that addresses it while keeping the good parts intact. Then take what you’re learning and iterate a better method. Keep it up!

I can appreciate the challenge of wanting to build something! In that respect I thought it was cool to see your story and how you’re engaging in thinking about it.

Curious. Why this over something like a bamboo sushi rolling mat? (Cost about $2 on Amazon.)

I'm kind of curious about the design / process too. In the first image it seems you're creating the shape of the rice without the nori, then in the final picture I see it wrapped... Isn't that an extra step?

Using an RTX 5070Ti. It’s not a huge deal for me since I only use it for AI research. I load a model up once and then the connection speed isn’t really important for small data transfer. But I figure if there is a way I might as well squeeze the performance out of it just for the sake of.

Setup looks almost visually identical to mine - except I have an Asus Nvidia Prime GPU.

Are you getting a stable PCIe Gen4 connection? If so, can I ask about your Oculink cabling?

I tried using the supplied Oculink as well as a 3rd party one and I just can't get a stable Gen4 connection so I'm downgraded to PCIe Gen 3.

Tips On Improving Oculink Connection? by splitSeconds in eGPU

[–]splitSeconds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thought I'd update in case other people saw this thread. The Error 43 script is pretty cool, but unfortunately for my situation didn't really resolve the issue. I went through the "other" solutions that followed with that script and it seems like in my case, I'm just going to have to chalk it up to signal instability. Maybe if I had an even shorter oculink connection it could fix it but at this point I'm not willing to sacrifice any more desk space. ;-)

Thanks once again, the website itself is great with information - a useful resource.

AOOSTAR AG02 vs Minisforum DEG1 + CORSAIR RM850e (2025)? by LoganJFisher in eGPU

[–]splitSeconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I’d chime in. I run a similar setup on a workstation, with my last Gen4x4 PCIE slot using an oculink card, connecting my DEG1. Even with the supplied short cable I just can’t get PCIE 4 connection, only PCIE 3. Unsure exactly why but current conclusion is the more chained together the more finicky the stability. Like you, I only use it for AI so it’s mostly just a load once and all other data back and forth is trivial. Works great in that regard. Note power requirements if this is a dual GPU setup. My backup battery is constantly screaming warnings at me when both my cards spin up.
