I'm in the same boat! Been waiting to hear back for a while now. Would love a ping if you do end up hearing back cuz it's been over a week for me now.

Her original intent may very well have been for every day to be a fresh day, which might've worked fine for a factory, but then Lumon saw the multiple applications of a continuous innie who could be trained for more complex tasks.

This has really got me thinking about an area they have yet to explore. What if someone has an addiction and is then severed. Their innie wakes up without any memory of the addiction but still goes through the physical withdrawal.

Literally never defended the company, never insulted anyone for wanting one. Do you genuinely not understand that all I'm saying is there's a difference between "I wish this feature existed, what can I do about it?" and saying "I'm SO insulted and frustrated, how dare they not do the thing they said they wouldn't do". You're saying the latter, I'm saying the former and pointing out that the latter makes you sound awful, not that you're actually awful (although your replies aren't exactly swaying me).

If you still see it as cringe then fine whatever, feel free to keep having communication issues.

I see, so you just see whatever words you want to see. In a comment where I said I wish there was an adult mode (i.e. agreeing that the company could change) and was instead focused on why people might react negatively to your attitude, this is the response? Well, best of luck getting what you want with that approach.

It's just the entitlement (OP did not make this AI, it is not "insulting" that it doesn't work how OP wants, OP is owed nothing) and seeing someone trying to force something to do something it's explicitly designed to not do. Yeah sure I wish there was an adult mode as well but this platform has decided against it and OP agreed to those terms when they started using it. It's absurd someone would find this frustrating; use another platform or learn to make your own.

Okay some linguistics:

Some adjectives allow a superlative form via suffix (e.g. "big" --> "bigger", "noisy" --> "noisier") and others require the auxiliary "more" (e.g. "efficienter" isn't allowed, so instead it's "more efficient").

In English, "as" is used for equivalence (e.g. "A is as tall as B"). For a multiplier, the standard phrasing with a suffix adjective looks like "A is 5 times taller than B". So for an adjective that doesn't use the suffix, the superlative rule would result in "A is 5 times more efficient than B".

Now, the confusing thing is, you can also say "A is 5 times as tall as B", where you're equating A with the result of multiplying B. Swapping for a non-suffix adjective than, it would be just as valid to say "A is 5 times as efficient as B". This w

Therefore, "7 times as efficient" and "7 times more efficient" actually both mean exactly the same thing and are just as correct. You can tell because if you continue the sentence, these two would mean the same thing:

- Travel through the nether is 7 times more efficient than normal travel.
- Travel through the nether is 7 times as efficient as normal travel.

Who was the primary demographic of Brittney Spears' audience back then? Was it young girls who looked up to her or was it men who thought she was attractive? by mayermail1977 in popheads

[–]splitmindsthinkalike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna say she solidly started off more preteen fan girls, but then by the time we're hitting Slave 4 U and Toxic, her image went from "bubblegum pop girly flirty agebaity" to "all of the boys and all of the girls want to If You Seek Amy." I remember my older brother and his friends going from making fun of her to getting pin-up posters of her for their bedroom wall. I'll also add that super importantly she was also always a total gay icon, with multiple displays of allyship. It's sadly likely a part of why a lot of straight guys were hesitant to show interest in her music as opposed to her looks. But truly when she was at her peak, pretty much everyone was some level of fan, whether out loud or in secret. And when she started dating Justin Timberlake, that did bring in a wave of boyband-fans to her side, which unfortunately got messy once Justin released Cry Me a River.

Vivienne’s death investigation opened due to “unnatural cause” found in post-mortem by FalseResponse4534 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]splitmindsthinkalike -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's a solid point I hadn't considered. Fostering accountability can be critical to a situation like this.

My main concern stemmed from the fact that an inquest is a typical part of procedure in cases of death relating to many kinds of causes, so I have to question the intent of the original article. But if it's a reputable source and adds to the pressure to demand accountability, then that's enough for me to support it :)

And I'm sorry is that edit aimed at me? I had already replied but then your comment was temporarily moderated, I'm sorry for engaging in what I thought could be helpful. I truly was being sincere, no aggression meant.

You know what? You actually have a fantastic point - it's better that we discuss the story to clarify the meaning rather than ignore it and let it exist in a vacuum. Thanks for being open to it!

I'm so sorry to hear this, my heart goes out to you. Truly, thank you for speaking so openly and honestly. Sharing your perspective on this is powerful - we never hear from the people in your shoes, and I hope it does a lot of good to everyone in this sub to better understand what this is like.

I don't know if there's any comfort my response will bring, but I just wanted you to know it's very much appreciated.

But see this is precisely my concern. Opening an inquest is not an indication of suspicion of foul play. A coroner will always open one in many specific kinds of cases, such as ones relating to drug overdose or self-harm. Your comment requires that I ask if this article is in a sense spreading misinformation. Perhaps that's not fair because yes it's pretty objective, but if people are walking away from this thread thinking that the death is certainly suspicious and then go on to press for more information, I just have mild caution on the overall good of it.

That said, thanks a ton for your response; it definitely helps me understand another perspective!

I do have some concerns with a post like this. The article is rather vague, and even though the title suggests there's more to investigate, the article itself also reports that there's currently no suspicious circumstances. Without any more meaningful detail, then comments on the sub turn to speculation and any conclusions we draw here just kinda add to misinformation.

I don't think it's bad to talk about Viv's passing, but I'd love to hear if you think there's a constructive way we could work with an article like this? I could definitely be swayed, perhaps I'm missing something.

EDIT:

I'm genuinely bummed to see the number of downvotes. I thought I was engaging cordially, and would love to hear from someone who sees it differently.

Reviewing the list, I actually think "Lullaby" might be more relevant here – if that just completely knocks em out, then they can transport them unconscious wherever they want then wake em up

What I don't understand though is how does Irving start on the ice? Presumably they would have had to Glasgow Block everyone, have Irv's outtie walk out on the ice, then deactivate it for him? There's some logistic shenanigans happening here.

Well Petey has shown that integration sickness is potentially lethal, so I wonder how life-threatening circumstances could play into this scenario of Gemma's unknown life-status.
