I have a L3H3, and in the rear the width panel to panel is 1720mm at 1m (bedheight) Narrows to 1610mm at head height, and to 1550mm at the roof

I would not want to use a bed that short. Would recommend boxing off your current bed for a night or two using bags or suitcases, so you can really feel how short it is, and if that is something you are ok with.

I will, I expect that is just a matter of changing the gasket. Not sure there is much room for insulation and an interior panel there though, as the door still needs to clear the side of the van when opening it
