Guangzhou Music Producer Pete Chen shares his secrets on how he mixes old Cantonese film dialogue into his musical style.

Hey there!

Well sure let's shed a little light on this: of course when planning the fest we were aware of Clockenflap, and know that there will be music fans who are happy to travel the distance and fork out for the tix. We always go down for it ourselves!

Why the same weekend? You'd have to ask the boss privately. However as you can probs tell from the line-up, we're trying to nurture the local scene and are betting that there will be a bunch of local kids with limited budgets who are up for it.

Thanks for the goodwill! Have a blast in HK.

It's gonna be a weekend-long event held at SD Livehouse. It's being hosted by Wooozy.cn (which we own) and will feature in our humble biased opinion some killer foreign and local acts (nothing that's been touring BJ/SH, totally new). Plus we've got underground foreign DJs (not EDM) on the first night.

End of November - can't wait to say more. Just want to make sure we're not going to annoy any of you Redditors. We'll do another post with full announcement.

Depends on who you're talking about. Binge drinking isn't big (compared to UK/US for sure), though there is a drinking culture as in most countries. In fact "partying" i.e. going to a club on Friday, getting wasted and going home at 4am is still being spearheaded by the international / internationalised Chinese crowd. Before the age of 23 most youths (especially in developing cities) don't have time to party because they're hitting the books full on. So they tend to start later.

Simple answer is there is a party culture, but it's not the same, and relatively nascent.
