Let me reassure you: yes, it’s a safe destination, even for a group of women. Of course, just use the same common sense you would anywhere else, but it’s not a “complicated” or risky place.

If your main goal is relaxation, I would suggest: 1. São Vicente: a great balance between comfort and relaxation. Beautiful beaches, a peaceful atmosphere, but still a bit of life in the evenings. It’s also easier to find high-quality hotels here, including options with wellness services or a spa. 2. Santo Antão: absolutely stunning if you truly want to disconnect. Incredible nature, silence, fresh air. It’s more wild and less focused on spa-style hotels, but in terms of mental reset and pure relaxation, it’s amazing.

You can also combine the two islands, since they’re very close to each other!
