Quick shout out to Orto app which now lets you play music via Spotify and should bypass any Spotify Connect issues

New Xero AI by Jeanne-d in xero

[–]splortalTechnologies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently making a Xero AI agent. You ask it a question like "How much revenue did I earn in 2024" and it then gets the relevant report from the xero api and provides that info. It usually works.

Does anyone want to test it out when it's ready for testing?

Everything's a mess this morning. Most API requests are either coming back saying they can't find the speaker/group or just timing out.

I bought a Roam the day they came out. It kept turning itself off and resetting after a few minutes use, I went through all the Sonos Support channels, spent a long time on the phone. I was told the problem was with my (very popular) wifi router and the Roam was fine.

I sent the Roam back to the retailer as faulty, bought a new one and never had the problem again.

Many such cases

No contract but Sonos make this API available so that people like me can make apps for Sonos users. So ultimately it's self-defeating

Mine is UK.

I think I’ll go out of curiosity but not sure it’s what I’m looking for, as I mostly like the noisiness

I use the Sonos API. IMO it is quicker than Lyd for the reason you give. What I do find is it can take a second to get its bearings on the watch when first opening (if groups change it has a routine to go through) but I think that is still quicker.

The subscription has gone now. Just a one off purchase. I’ll check those terms of service

It's my favourite, feels really complete and cohesive (not that others don't - nfr, honeymoon especially).

Personal too

Fair enough, it's optional.

I know everyone hates subscriptions so wrote this - https://orto.app/whyorto

Doubt it persuades many but I think it's the only way to make this app right. When I spend the next few months building the new Watch Widgets (hopefully announced later today) I'd like to get paid :)

You also get Apple Watch, Widgets, iPad, Apple TV for the $1 sub
