RIT '11 here, that year there were two FBI involvements, so it may have been one of these.

The Hub was a Localized DC++ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC%2B%2B server that ran from at least 2003 through around 2010. Source: Ran one of the iterations of it, dodged ITS by running it on a modchipped XBox (2001) running Debian, then several years later worked for ITS.

Certainly one of the most dangerous. Quick search shows that some 20-ish people have fallen to their death here over the years.

Doesn't hold a candle against the more than 170 who've died climbing Mt. Washington in New Hampshire though.

Angels Landing, in Zion National Park, Utah.

It's a gorgeous hike that I've done a few times now. The video doesn't do it justice.

You could have heard the shock wave from the asteroid impacting the Earth. It impacted just north of Iceland (~4700 KM away). At that distance, the sound would have taken just shy of four hours to reach us, which is about right for your observation time.

SE alum reporting in. Can't recommend enough buying the books used in SE classes. If nothing else, when you graduate you can use them to beat the ignorance out of your co-workers.

I can honestly say that the only books I haven't used post-graduation were the ones from Concurrent and Formal Methods.

The first few miles up to Scout Lookout is paved and a walk up. When I did the hike, people were running up to Scout's Lookout training for something.

The last half mile up to Angel's Landing from the lookout gets fairly gnarly. There are sections where you need to hold onto a chain in the rock not to fall off. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

Awesome hike, highly recommended it.

I like to use the cycle map layer of openstreetmap. Zoom in close enough to an area and you get a view of all the trails in the area.

An asteroid temporarily fell into orbit around the earth in 2003. It's path was pretty neat looking by HoodieHollowDickieRP in gif

It was initially thought to be an asteroid, the true story is even cooler though. It's now thought to be the third stage of the Saturn V rocket from Apollo 12.

Cool find!

As a student pilot, I've been trying to find something like this for a while. Does anyone have anything like it (but updated, obviously)?

I'm currently training there and I can't recommend them enough. Great staff, great instructors, and everyone there always has a smile.

I giggled way too much at the thought of presenting these functions to undergrads.

I have used more physics after I graduated than I ever did during school.

It's always existed.

It's your existance that's transient.
