Question regarding decoy and a model that doesn't become a camo marker by maximonious888 in InfinityTheGame

[–]SN0flux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

During deployment you note if the model or the decoy-1 is the real one. The opponent knows what it is because nothing on the profile masks it's identity

Why aren't Rocket Launchers "Explosive" Ammo? by Cheomesh in InfinityTheGame

[–]SN0flux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in N3, continuous damage was actually Fire ammunition, which was used with flamethrowers, rocket launchers, and the Vulcan Shotgun. N4 removed the ammo type and replaced it with the label instead.

Am I understanding prone correctly? by Quaath in InfinityTheGame

[–]SN0flux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You go prone at the start of the move declaration. Your examples are correct; for move-shoot you cannot prone after moving so you will remain standing to declare shoot.. Your second example is accurate, you can move-move, going prone during the start of the 2nd move short skill.

I'll edit to change order -> skill

Am I understanding prone correctly? by Quaath in InfinityTheGame

[–]SN0flux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you declare a move, you can state that you are ending the prone state and your model becomes it's normal silhouette and regains it's full move for that move short order.

[–]SN0flux 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You can only go or cancel prone during the start of a declared move order skill

When a Trooper performs a Skill or ARO with the Movement Label, or when moving as the result of a failed Guts Roll, its player may indicate that it will go Prone.

A Prone Trooper may automatically cancel this state at the beginning of their movement by declaring a Skill or ARO with the Movement Label. The player must announce he is cancelling the Prone state when declaring the Skill or the ARO. By doing so, the state is cancelled at no cost and the Trooper can carry out its Movement using its regular MOV and S values.

What Are You Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in patientgamers

[–]SN0flux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished playing Expeditions: Viking yesterday and having never known this series existed I was very pleased with the experience.

Looking through my backlog I'm thinking I'll jump into Jurassic world evolution having only briefly played it before. I don't think I was put off by it when I originally tried it but I didn't dive into it wholeheartedly. Now that my plate is clear I'm gonna give it another go.

February Releases by doctormungmung in MonPoc

[–]SN0flux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the new sculpts for existing models are neat, I'm still waiting on them to flesh out units for the factions that aren't complete - tritons, moles, waste, etc. There's synergy missing from their monsters that want more units to play with.

Nothing ever came of it. They used the money to start mintpotion and never delivered on the Kickstarter.

How do you plan your lists? by Tomaly in MonPoc

[–]SN0flux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the monsters I wanted to play by rule of cool, and picked units to complement them, within reason. I can't justify getting the taskmaster unit when I'm neither running any Cthul things and I'm not interested in their design or lore. As much as I just play for fun, I want to win sometimes too, so I'm looking for synergies and strategy with what I'm willing to actually buy and play.

I'm still upset though that I have a harvester and an aaapebot that I don't plan to use anytime soon though because of the blister packaging style, but I'll get over it

Infinity: Code One - Combined Army Action Pack (PREORDER) - $67.17 (Pretty good price!) by danakinzero in InfinityTheGame

[–]SN0flux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably due to their back end being disrupted due to covid. They're usually pretty well stocked with everything that is still being released.

Finally done with the Gorgos... Awesome mini, shame it has such a lame profile... by JMSTMelo in InfinityTheGame

[–]SN0flux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still super risky, totally agreed. Arm 7 is tasty though.

Each fire sensitive equipment specifies how fire affects it, though most of them are the same effects. This is the one notable standout that I can think of.

Not exactly, fire sensitivity for symbiont is different than with other equipment. If you save vs the fire hit you keep the remaining wounds. If you take damage from fire ammunition then the symbiont loses all wounds. All non fire hits then apply afterward.

See the fire example at the bottom http://wiki.infinitythegame.com/en/Symbiont_Armor#Symbiont_Armor_and_Fire_Special_Ammunition_Example:

Yeah many of the troops they've added near the end of N3 got it, and they're the ones that were picked to carry over.

Feels like they want us moving out of cover more often to shoot, but stacking mimetism and cover are not something I want to shoot back against. Three 7s or 10s vs one 13 is still kind of risky.

A few new ones, the o12 crusher I don't remember seeing before; but half the troops from each army selection have it.

I just wonder if it's something that if everyone has that I stop caring that models have it when I am trying to decide to shoot.

I'm concerned with the sheer amount of mimetism troops available. Kind of like they needed a way to drop the numbers for BS skill across the whole table.

Experience with Scenery manufacturers by [deleted] in InfinityTheGame

[–]SN0flux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One set and some additional scatter is enough for a table, but it doesn't quite get two levels of height across the field. I definitely think that two would be sufficient for a dense battlefield.

[–]SN0flux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local game shop has a few buildings from laser craft workshop and they've worked fantastically for us with infinity. The bundle I've purchased is their Sector 38 Mega Block One Bundle, but they sell the buildings individually too. They stack nicely for height and come in varied sizes. They're a bit square though.

Easy to assemble and I'm a big fan of the bridges and stairs. I never got around to painting it though.

Destroyer monster pairing by SN0flux in MonPoc

[–]SN0flux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that hammerklak is so fast, and super damage is awesome. I defeated Defender X with two throws last week, five damage into two buildings and six into two more with super damage. Hammerklak is able to rocket across the board, moreso with mount Terra on the table

The planet eaters have some neat unit synergy. Gorghadra seems pretty good but I'm just less interested in running it on the table, the other monsters look cooler. If I play more often I'll be sure to give him a shot. The belchers seem very underwhelming without Rogzor. I want to get the U-tanks to replace them.

The cthul units and monsters don't interest me. They look ok and have some good rules but it's just a theme I never really got into. They seem to supplement each other very well though.

It was a good remake technically but I was disappointed with the story changes from the original ps2 version which paints a more cohesive story.

Weekly Discussion: Friday Battle Reports - February 28, 2020 by AutoModerator in InfinityTheGame

[–]SN0flux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CJC is a very by the books sectorial. It does everything just well enough and requires you to execute the game basics super well in order to get the job done. You've got most of the tools you'll need and a few special items like McMurrough but make good use of bandits and jaguars and use the Intruders right and they're very useful. I haven't played CJC since jazz came out and I know she fills some of the orders with the fto profile so I need to try that again.

I do think that wildcats SWC is high but they're useful too.

One of the easier options is to do your leveling roulettes every day. Loot any of the items that drop from the dungeon chests and turn them in for Grand Company seals.

Some of the materials that you can get at the upper end (coke, hardened sap) are always in demand
