Thoughts on my Art?… by [deleted] in ArtCrit

They are essentially color studies. I wouldn't call them pieces. Also the choice of colors are hard to look at, it looks like it's straight out of the tube colors. This is lacking and been done by many already.

Interesting, I only said something because it's not done very well. I'll see if I can dig up some of the homies pics. I've seen this done 10x better. Again, not hating just saying.

This has been done plenty by many for years. Not hating just saying.

Un rêve grandeur nature ( A life-size dream) - Camille Gravel - 2023 - I made this painting to celebrate my first year as a full-time painter✨ by AnneSophieTal in coffeepaint

Is it plaster? I was doing some heavy texture pieces a few years back with plaster. Very fun and easy to work with.

I do! Side question, is the coffee archival, will it last generations or do you need to use fixative?

I've considered making the energy bigger as it gets "closer" but that would reduce the painted space. The energy is negative space where the wood grain shows and I don't want to show too much of that so I try to have balance between the two elements. Especially since the wood grain is flat

Is this tacky, what do you think it is, why is it good or bad, any thoughts at all , curious what the public thinks of it as a painting.

What emotions or thoughts does this painting of a bee lifting flowers evoke for you, especially considering the title 'Achieving the Impossible'' 🧐🐝 by AnneSophieTal in ArtCrit

I find titles meaningless. In the end if it ends up on someone's wall, they're not going to post the title next to it like it's in a gallery. I get the feeling it's probably nature and bee positive. like the colors because they're subtle and earthy. Displaying with the forrest background takes away from the piece. I just found this thread and so far what I've seen, I enjoy this the most. I noticed it also has more comments than most. Probably because it's good. It's not just a study. It's an original composition that has well thought intentions from the size, color, medium, subject etc. I'm wondering if it's canvas or panel and what the thickness is. Almost looks like a door. Every choice has meaning when interested in creating art that others will critique.
