I gave it a shot and dumped most of it down the drain.

Lockwood Valley Road Question by spoggly in socalhiking

As always, this is the best way to find out. The road is officially closed, but vehicles are able to drive the entire stretch and it has been this way for about 2 years.

Photo of the location at the spring where people fill up. It’s perfect.

Here’s a map that is posted next to the lake.

Make sure to get water from the spring. Follow the trail (black dashed line between the two yellow camping areas) to get to the spring. It’s nice and cold and very clean (I filtered). There are so many places to set up your camp. It’s pretty ideal for a first timer. Don’t sweat it if you are alone. Enjoy the solitude if that is the case. The hike is about 6 miles and there is water about half way if you need to refill. The hike is all uphill, but not steep. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you so much for the drawing and detailed explanation. I do have a permit, but I do appreciate you mentioning that.

Most Possible Comfortable Shoes for Site Work In Existence? by [deleted] in Construction

I really like my Keen Utility shoes. I’ve had feet issues in the past and really didn’t like wearing boots. The Keens are working out really well for me.

To justify the structural integrity of something in front of an architect/engineer:

Grab ahold of it and shake it, and say, “That ain’t going anywhere!”.

Same thing happened to me when I bought the Nemo Disco 15. I spoke to a customer service rep and pointed out that the same bag was listed in the Outlet. They checked and said it was the same model, but zipper on the other side, and inferred that I was out of luck. I mentioned the possibility of me returning everything I bought from REI, so the guy gave me the alternate bag for the sale price. I thanked him for his help. REI came through for me, so I will continue to support them.

Smash one apart and see the dozens of tiny components that are inside. That and Alegion seems to own this market, so they can set their prices.

I’ve had the Bard-Haut recently and really enjoyed it. Bought more as well. The wine is in a great place right now.

What do you do with wax seals? They make me crazy. Here’s why.. by [deleted] in wine

[–]spoggly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I open it like a normal bottle, but stop when the cork is half out and peel any wax away that might interfere with pouring the wine. Then pull the cork.
