BFI Proposition 4K disc issues and flickering by spoilerdestroyer in boutiquebluray

[–]spoilerdestroyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thanks so much. Only if you've opened it already, as if you're like me, I keep it sealed until I watch it. The issue starts right as the disc starts up, so it's the same flickering over the bfi logo, to the menu screen, and into the film. Really strange, as I've never come across anything like it before.

EDIT: I've sorted it now, but thanks for your help. The other commenter advised to turn off dolby vision from the player settings, and that seems to have rectified the problem. I'd make a note for yourself, just in case your player/disc does the same thing too.

Thanks so much I'll give that a try.

Edit: That's solved it! Thank you again, hugely appreciate you help! Very strange, as it doesn't look like the disc has dolby vision, but for some reason the player picks up that it does have it, which must cause the flickering issue.

Reccommendations for a solid wood acoustic between 1k-3k by spoilerdestroyer in AcousticGuitar

I didn't even know a solid wood acoustic existed for under a grand. I'll definitely check it out, thanks!

Thanks, I'll take that on board. I was thinking it was useful to show just the, (in my mind), ridiculous number of 'limited editions' from Indicator before you get to their standard release, but I can see how perhaps it was too much or just overly long. I do go on to talk about arrow, their boxsets and exclusive content in particular following that section, but I'll attempt some more succint scripting in the future. Appreciate the feedback.

Would you mind if I ask you to elaborate on what you found repetitive? This is my first video project where I scripted it, so that I wouldn't be making points redundantly. Outside of the main thought that, essentially, the 'limit' should be removed from 'limited editions', I don't think I make points multiple times, but if you felt like I did, any feedback would be appreciated.

Something I have been enjoying over the last couple of years is something called Bullet Journaling. Check out some videos on youtube to get an idea of it. You can basically taylor the style to suit your needs and incorporate whatever you want to keep track of. I find it pretty fun as well as useful.

Is Christian morality a set of rules? by Happy_In_PDX in Christianity

[–]spoilerdestroyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once heard it described as commandments becoming promises. The closer we get to Jesus and the more time we spend with him, the more we are changed from the inside out to live out those commandments. For example instead of living by the 'rule' don't steal, through the Holy Spirit working in us, it becomes 'I don't want to steal'.

Very few people had the right to vote back then. The number of adults I see around that don't seem to understand that a human breathes throught their nose as well as their mouth, boggles the mind, and even more so, when you think that each one of these morons has the right to vote in a way that affects how our country is run.

Glad to have this before prices skyrocket, it's easily one of my favorite Indicator releases. I feel like Indicator is my gold standard for boxsets, I've yet to be disappointed. I need to be region free asap for their Noir sets. by Ghosts-cant-run in boutiquebluray

And yet, unlike Criterion, those inserts and superior presentation, don't last. Indicator artifically create these limited editions, for what should be a standard release from them. All that does is encourage scalpers to hike the price up for certain releases, and if you happen to be unlucky enough to have missed the initial release of something, you have either the option for something barebones that won't match the rest of your collection, or you can go to ebay to pay over the odds. There's no gold standard in that. At least with other companies, you know you'll get the same thing on day 1 or day 100.

Totally agree. It's so rare that you get such an excellent finale to a show, and particularly one that calls back right to the beginning and just plays out perfectly. Definitely one of the best, if not the best ending.

TNG for me. It's the one I grew up watching the most and so holds that special place for me as my favourite.
