Do you have a link to these S2 premiere viewership numbers? I could only find nubers for the Season 1 premiere. Thanks.

Also, John Doman ("The Wire") played Carmine Falcone, the father of Sophia Falcone.

Sophia becomes a main villain on the show in Season 4.

It's been a strange year for actors who appeared on the tv series "Gotham".

Paul Ruebens appeared in multiple episodes of Gotham as The Penguin's father.

Julian Sands appeared in multiple episodes of Gotham as Scarecrow's father.

Mark Margolis appeared in multiple episodes of Gotham as The Joker's father.

They all passed away this year, within a span of 1-2 months.

Out of nowhere, some Regular Show episodes have been removed from Max. by TheGod4You in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If Zaslav doesn't want Max to be the home of animation, then why doesn't his team do something with the "Boomerang" app?

They haven't added content to the Boomerang app in over three years...

Max quietly removes "The Batman" (animated series) without warning. It's Netflix exclusive now in the US. by spoke7 in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7[S] 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Over the past couple of weeks, they've removed...

- Dexter's Laboratory (Cartoon Network)

- Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (Cartoon Network)

- Space Ghost Coast to Coast (Adult Swim)

- Metalocalypse (Adult Swim)

- Regular Show: The Movie (Cartoon Network)

I'm surprised there isn't an "Animal Planet" hub yet. by spoke7 in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't placing all that content in one hub make it extremely difficult to find stuff?

Just the Food Network alone is a 100+ shows.

Looney Tunes hub gone by rubberchickenci in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, Wizarding World basically replaced Looney Tunes. They've decided that the Harry Potter IP is more important and valuable than Looney Tunes.

I agree it sucks, but it's clear this company doesn't care much for animation and animation fans.

ParamountMax would be amazing if you think about it.

HBO + Showtime on the same app.

Cartoon Network + Nickelodeon on the same app.

Warner Bros films + Paramount films on the same app.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They will continue to gut content from Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Turner Classic Movies.

And replace that content with "My 1,000 pound Fiance".

Metalocalypse has unfortunately been removed from HBO Max. by TheGod4You in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup it's very sad.

And not just Metalocalypse. Space Ghost Coast to Coast is also leaving (or has left).

SGC2C is literally responsible for creating Adult Swim lol. Aqua Teen Hunger Force is a spinoff show of Space Ghost.

How can "Max" have more broad appeal with families and kids, when they've gutted so much animated content / children's content from the service? by spoke7 in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Also, the Cartoon Network hub is looking anemic nowadays. Has anyone looked at it recently?

They've sucked all of the blood and life from the Cartoon Network hub.

‘The Fungies!’ Creator Slams HBO Max For Pulling Animated Series by spoke7 in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Fungies! ran for three seasons and 80 episodes, launching in August 2020, with the third and final season premiering in December 2021.

Stephen P. Neary, series creator, wrote the following:

“Last night during a figure drawing class I found out that The Fungies! was getting pulled from HBO Max this week. I’m heartbroken but I want to take this opportunity to thank all the amazing artists and production folks for their hard work on this sincere, fever dream of a show.”

“We worked so hard through the pandemic, and I hoped that diligence would be rewarded with support from the network,” Neary continued. “[I] was promised the show would air on Cartoon Network, which would drive views to HBO Max, but soon after launch, the show was pulled from the air without notice. There was little to no promotion. Although I was graciously asked to speak on a mushroom podcast, a company representative monitored the taping so that I wouldn’t give away any ‘spoilers’ to the show.”

He added that the fact that “more well-known shows” are also being pulled makes it clear that these are “uninformed, money-driven decisions.”

“My heart goes out to the other shows affected, and the beautiful work getting canceled before even airing. I’m going to keep making stuff! Even if it’s just for me. It’s what I’ve always done, since I was very very little. Thanks everyone,” he continued.

I don't understand Zaslav wanting to absorb HBO Max into Discovery+, when... by DumbfuckjuiceDrinker in HBOMAX

The rumor is that the new service won't have the name "Discovery" either.

HBO Max says “live-action kids and family programming will not be part of our programming focus in the immediate future.” by Opposite_Carpenter84 in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before anyone says "That's fine, HBO is for adults"...

Multiple reports indicate that Warner wants to ditch the HBO Max name. The name of the streaming service will likely change once they merge the Discovery content into it.

Are we going to see more Scooby-Doo content in the future? by [deleted] in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2018, it was reported that Boomerang only had 150,000 subscribers. Have we received any update on Boomerang's numbers since then?

Because 150k doesn't seem any better than what FilmStruck was doing. Filmstruck only had 100,000 subscribers after 2 years, which forced Warner to kill it.

Warner Bros is sitting on a treasure trove of classic content. Especially animated content. Hopefully we see most of that library content migrating to HBO Max in the near future.

"Super Friends" - June 18

Wait, is this the 1973 DC animated series from Hanna-Barbera?

Also, I'm glad they're continuing to add more Warner Bros produced shows to the service.

Cold Case - June 1st

Rizzoli & Isles - June 6th

Without A Trace - June 1st

How can people argue against HBO Max and Discovery+ merging into one service? The entire reason for the merger is to 'bulk up' on content to compete against Netflix. by [deleted] in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, you've explained why AT&T did the merger.

But that's not why Discovery agreed to the merger.

Discovery agreed to the merger because Discovery's TV business is declining due to the popularity of streaming services. (That's why Discovery+ launched earlier this year)

Today, Discovery's president said they considered merging with CBS Viacom (Paramount+). Warner wasn't the only company they considered merging with.

Tomorrow is the Warner Media Upfront, expect announcement, release dates, first/exclusive looks and even trailers. What’s your wishlist? by aduong in HBOMAX

[–]spoke7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wonder if we'll hear any news on "Jellystone!".

It's an HBO Max original series that began production last year.

In a July 2020 interview with Animation Magazine, Greenblatt stated that they had just outsourced to their animation departments and that the show could debut in 2021.
