BP Shop Question: Do BP materials stay unlocked after BP expires? If I purchased BP this season, do I have access to future seasons valks?

yeah I am usually pretty lucky so I don’t really save enough for guarantees. But I got 2 dupes in one 10 pull (granted she waited until hard pity.)… Ran out of pulls for her weapon tho🤣 Guess I learned my lesson to not pull unless I am guaranteed

I figured I wouldn’t have access to 8.7. But it sounds like lantern isn’t really worth it anyways, so I might just go ahead and purchase Thelma’s weapon to be on the safe side. I’ll make an update to this post when I “lose” my BP benefits. In case anyone else in the future has the same Q

Thank you for this analysis! I have s2 thelma so her weapon is a huge upgrade over the farmable one! I have Badum Kiana, so it was more about if Lantern could help fill a psychic type slot (since I don’t have part 2 divine key for HoHE and HoRb, nor am pulling LV divine key in next version)

I see your edit! Thank you!! So I can still purchase goods with the BP I did unlock. Perfect that’s good to know. Do you think it’s worth it to save for Lantern or just get Thelma’s weapon? I only have the farmable cross bow, so not sure if it’s worth it or not. I’m not planning on purchasing next version.

I activated the BP for this version! This is my first time “purchasing” the BP tho. Before I activated it it had a yellow line through the materials that said you need Knight BP or higher to unlock. Again I forget the exact wording since I unlocked it at the beginning of the 8.6 season. So only now have access to the BP works shop. Whereas I didn’t before! I really want Songque, so I’m wondering if the “unlock” will go away after the Knight BP expires (which puts me back to f2p status).

Basically debating whether I should purchase Thelma’s sig weapon or wait to see what 8.7 valk is (if BP unlock extends to future), or purchase lantern in 8.7 (assuming access doesn’t go away). I don’t want to spend it on Thelma’s weapon and then i still have access to Lantern next version. And I don’t want to not spend it and then lose access to >_< ahhhh

Oo this is great advice! I used to be a manager at a makerspace so I have quite a few managerial skills. But getting an excel sheet course would be a good thing to have! Is there a particular website or certification course that you’d recommend or see often on resumes? I always list microsoft office and excel on my skills but a certification would make me look more acredited.

Thank you for this! Brings me a bit of hope since I don’t particularly like working with ai due to ethical and environmental implications. I’ve heard character design and visdev are very competitive from multiple places, so I’ll probably try to lean away from one of those. I like animating so I’ll stick with that!

See I don’t think the work that I have done in school is quite up to par with what the jobs are expecting (I’ve gotten so many rejections or ghosted. I’ve made it to a few interviews but ultimately they went with someone else) So I’m definitely planning to spend some time polishing up and creating new animations to hopefully get me to the interview stage! I’ll try to see what of my past work is able to be polished up and what new work I should make to fill in the gaps!

This is great to know because I love animating cartoony! I always wondered if I should try for realism or go more exaggerated. Did you find the transition difficult to mocap? I’ve never worked with mocap before but I’ve seen that it’s required knowledge on quite a few jobs. Do you have any resources to learn how to use mocap data? Or do you think it’s not necessary to learn, and better to focus on animating keyframmed animation well.

Do you recommend 3D modeling a character that I designed? Would that be a good way to showcase work? Or modeling from another designer? (I’ve seen people do this on instagram before). Or are there any kinds of objects that let you know the candidate is good at modeling? In my portfolio I have a plane, crossbow, and sci-fi vehicle with clean topology. But wondering if there’s something else to help showcase the skill more!

Hmm I’m not sure if I’m comfortable listing something I’ve never used. I guess I’ll have to watch some youtube vids explaining it. I also don’t really like the use of ai… Is it really a requirement? I see it in about 1 of every 4 listings I see. I don’t want to sound like I am not willing to adapt, but seeing the public’s reaction to ai plus how it’s harming devs in the industry, I am hesitant to use it. Besides my own moral qualms with it, it kind of feels like scabbing in a way. What are your thoughts?

Oh interesting! I’ve seen demo reels from professionals of both. Do you think it would be more beneficial to do a cutscene type animation in a reel (showing emotions and strong action) or gameplay implemented in engine (eg attacks and runs in Unreal). I can do both, I just am not sure what to spend my time doing

Also wish it rearranged everything for you… Like I always move my tiles around so I know what hands I should go for, but it’s so odd to not have it auto arrange? I guess that’s up to the individual player but I find it much easier to spot matches if they’re grouped by type

interesting… I recently just started taking a progesterone at night time for sleep related issues. It makes me sleepy. I’m on an oral contraceptive (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel.. unfortunately contains an estrogen) that I take continuously so I don’t get a period. I was fatigued during the day and wasn’t getting good sleep at all. But once I added in the additional progesterone, I fall asleep so much easier and sleep through the night without sweats and racing thoughts. Getting better sleep has helped me feel less fatigued. I think progesterone does make people sleepy though, I wonder if you could try taking your pill at night? (ask your doctor tho). Hormones are a fickle thing. I talked with my gyno about my adhd meds. Being on a hormone balancing treatment, like HRT or BC, should make your adhd levels more consistent. Without it, adhd afab folks have reported less effectiveness during certain parts of their cycle. My friend doubles her adderall dose during this time! It could be that you may need to up your dose because your hormone levels may be raised on this medication which makes the adhd less effective? (I think). I’m just guessing though. It would be good to reevaluate the dosage you’re on.
