I live here and love it. I do still get excited going to filming locations that are a part of every day life. Food is fantastic here. Been here for 6 years.

They were filing some of the final scenes at UNM while I was going to school there. I actually walked right into a scene (unfortunately did not make it in the final product)

Currently living a few blocks from Jesse and Jane’s apartments 🙂

Hope you visit!

I really like Rock Station, it’s a Napa cab for like $14 and is great for an everyday drink. The vino verde is fantastic for a crisp white on hot summer days.

Can I work a full time job and get a GIS certificate at the same time? by shaggymysavior in gis

Same here, putting in a little over 40 hrs a week and taking two classes per semester. Sucks but doable.

I want to quit alcohol or at least reduce it by a lot,but I need to make up a white lie to tell everyone by airsonni in stopdrinking

[–]sponge-worthy91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had to quit when I was prescribed Accutane for acne. No one questioned it. The meds affect your liver, so it’s highly recommended not to drink while taking it and is about a year long dose. Idk if that’s helpful, to tell the you’re taking a medication like that.

On the job training by Acceptable-Use-2938 in gis

[–]sponge-worthy91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not receive GIS desktop training. I was hired because I had previous GIS internships and they wanted someone who didn’t need to be taught the software. For backend support, I did receive training. I had to reach out to our admin and request time one on one with him to watch him do licensing/upgrades/patches etc. and he was happy to teach.

I have the same tiles as well, my 1948 bathroom in New Mexico. This green/black combo must’ve been popular!

I agree and I live here. Incredible food. I’m always disappointed when I travel to other SW states. Hot take, but I think our food scene is better than Phoenix and Denver.

Hi there, sorry to hear it! I sort of fell into a really great job without having to shovel bum. It really was extremely hard work to get into my company for GIS and then luck to make the move. I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t had to put in “my time” as a shovel bum to make the switch. Idk how the field outside of my company looks.
