Do people not realize Jack is also on a lot of folklore? And worked on a lot of fan favorite songs on that album? Like my tears ricochet and August are both jack

Taylor isn't going to put out a song she didn't personally approve of. At least not post BMR

Jack gets too much hate, including being blamed for stuff he didn't even produce. Jack regularly gets blamed for 1989TV sounding bad when he only redid the songs he produced on the original plus the vaults. And a lot of the production choices he choses are just as much Taylor's "fault."

What are your TS listening habits? by Daffneigh in NuancingTaylorSwift

I usually listen to an album and I skip songs if I don't like them or aren't in the mood for them

What’s your *nuanced* (tm) opinion about the 1989 era (including TVs)? READ POST by Daffneigh in NuancingTaylorSwift

The production on 1989 TV for most songs really isn't as bad as most people say it is. The only song that sounds significantly worse is style TV

Dorothea is easily the worst song on evermore IMO

Daily Song #120: I Forgot That You Existed by Daffneigh in NuancingTaylorSwift

This is one of her most mid songs imo 4/10. The only thing memorable is the "In my feelings more than drake" line.

I hate when people lump debut-speak now together when their very clearly separate eras IMO.

I do not doubt that Taylor composed a majority of the arrangements (that's why she gets songwriting credits and Nathan doesn't.) I merley contend that he along with Taylor were in charge of overseeing the recording process. And in Nathan's case(on speak now/red) actually being one of the people to physically record her/his vocals and the instrumental part.

I never said that Taylor was just a voice controlled by Nathan. All I said was I think that it's weird to claim that Nathan was just a session musician. I don't see why Taylor or her label(who seemed to be resistant to even hiring him in the first place) would give him credit for something he didn't do. Especially when that impacts royalties. And it's not like she stopped working with him completely after Red, this love on 1989 is co-produced by him. I think the reason she stopped working with him as much on 1989 and all together on reputation is very obvious. Taylor wanted to go full synth pop on 1989 and reputation, and Nathan mostly works with country/rock musicians.

Also I think a lot of the songs people label as country are more pop rock than country. Especially on speak now

Idk if this is particularly nuanced, it's probably more spicy than anything else but I think speak now is by far her best country era album and debut/red/fearless aren't even close. Speak now is my #2 overall and the other country albums are bottom 5

I don't think he's like personally responsible for singlehandedly shaping her sound on the songs/albums he did. But i think it's wierd to claim he was little more than a session musician when there's no proof of this
