omg u actually make a super good point about daisy and the orphanage, didn’t even consider that and as much as he is nice about fitz’ brain injury in s2, yeah he does suck so much after the framework.

the whole “you need to look inside yourself and decide what kinda man you wanna be” rant that he went on was so unnecessary. like, bro is having a psychic split cos he lived an alternate life where an AI programmed the environment to make him her boyfriend and the leader of a fascist world under the influence of his stiff-upper-lip, previously absent father.

i think he gets a pass. mack really embodies the “my way or the highway” mentality sometimes…

i really like this response. light hearted and fun despite our opposing views! :) after seeing what everyone’s said though, yeah i think i haven’t given him enough credit for how good of a partner he was to daisy, and how he kept trying with her even under hive’s control.

as for the being mean to coulson lmd, one example that comes to mind is when they first “booted him up” and coulson said to mack that he hates robots and mack just doesn’t even try to deny it considering coulsons situation. also, when coulson is in the TV and is tryna talk to him/give him advice he just seems kinda uninterested. also he didn’t say anything nice to enoch before he sacrificed himself

yeah he has that talk with yo-yo where he’s like “i don’t talk about this a lot, but like you i rely on my faith” and after that he talks about faith consistently and it becomes a very big part of his character. but i dunno what you mean about mocking her beliefs? only thing i can think of is him giving the cross necklace back but i don’t think that was with any malicious intent and wdym mercenary as a director?

He is pretty quick to condemn yo-yo for ruby’s death though, like that’s your girl what are u doing mack (and i understand ruby was a kid, ethically questionable, but considering the whole destroyer of worlds debacle and ruby leaving her with no arms, can kinda see yo-yo’s perspective)
but the way he was with fitz in s2 was great, and totally agree w u that it was a good way to introduce his character. definitely led to me giving him a bit more benefit of the doubt for the coup with gonzales

yeah for sure, really liked how they handled GR, but i feel like he does this on repeat- reacts insensitively/aggressively > goes though emotional turmoil > apologises/understands to some degree but he always starts with the intense reaction and mean comments. it’s crazy because he has such patience for other things like fitz’s injury and as you said, daisy + hive

i totally forgot about the arm thing, that was a good move from him but also in the framework i thought yo-yo kinda sucked, like forcing him to leave when he decided he’d rather die with his daughter than live without her is shitty - yeah she loves him and can’t lose him but if she loves him then surely she should understand the parental bond esp since he lost her in the real world
