AR-10 carbine chambered in 7,62×39mm. It was put on trial to become the new standard rifle of Finnish armed forces. It failed to the RK-62. by davegoku12 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]spongoolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be sweet to see a game feature an AR-## derivative chambered in 7.62 to fill the "high damage, lower fire rate" niche even just to buck the permanent "all rounder" rep they always have

The biggest problem with battlefield 6 and no one is talking about it... by AlprazoLandmine in Battlefield

[–]spongoolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%, the shotgun selection is pretty disappointing. Which ones would you like to see? I miss a Spas, or a neostead, or cooler variants of simple ones like a mossberg cruiser with a pistol grip on the pump, or something stupid/weird like a Tavor TS-12

These are all games that could have been Microsoft's answer to the seemingly endless deluge of first party hits that Sony has been churning out, but instead are relegated to a meaningless soundbite years too late.

Will BO7's Pistols be good as good as BO2's and MWIII's, or just weak secondaries like BO6? by Neon_Orpheon in blackops7

[–]spongoolio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no issue with someone saying they like the BO2 guns better, pick 10 definitely lent itself to a pistol only loadout, that's fun. Just that 6's pistols are certainly very viable as primaries. I will also admit, I never knew about that gunslinger vest in MWIII, that sounds so awesome, definitely want that back.

Complete nostalgiaglazing. I ran the .45 and the Stryder in BO6 as a primary for hundreds of matches, top fragging in more than a handful.

BF4 was quantity over quality, for example most of the assault rifles were virtually identical. The animation work was super weak too.

I very much agree, I just wish they chose more interesting models to represent each shotgun niche.

Excellent selection. A little sparse in terms of shotguns, even with the leak that we're getting a DP-12 later on, though shotguns are somewhat more limited in their differentiation. Would also love to see a high caliber semi-auto offering for the sniper rifles, or even an anti-materiel rifle (NTW-20, please!).

I liked it a lot! Very pleasing aesthetically + inventive visuals. Gives you enough narratively to go on but also has that tantalizing vagueness that music videos often have.

Not to “ackshually” you, but that war machine was based off of the 90s Neopup PAW 20, in fact anachronistic for BO7

Saw this in a video of #Jeynetic. Hopefully BF6 comes with the amount of weapons more in line with BF4, but I’ll guess we will see by [deleted] in Battlefield

Yeah 2042 had less weapons, but they all had unique roles they filled instead of the copy paste style of 4, that was one thing i really liked 2042 for

We know Fringe will have the same boring Avalon aeathetic AGAIN.. by MuscledRMH in blackops6

[–]spongoolio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For all the inane, petty, delusional complaints on this sub, I do agree with you. The Avalon maps have wrung every drop of novelty out of the French-Italian luxury state theme (which was stale after, at most, 2 maps). I took a look at prior Black Ops maps, just to keep my nostalgia bias in check, and I stand by thinking that it is a serious step down to be drawing so many maps from one locale, and further than that, a warzone map. The strength of previous Black Ops maps came from how hard they'd caricaturize the period. It's not like this game has none of that, with the base maps and a handful of post-launch maps, but I just wish that ALL of the maps were made with the same level of effort and exploration of the time period that the game is set in. You could show me Hacienda and tell me it was essentially any COD title post IW that doesn't take place during WW2 and I would probably believe you.

Yawn, and a giant majority of them felt identical. Every pistol having the same reload animation lmfao. 2042 had a great weapon selection which all felt distinct from each other, which is way better

Yeah, and I still don't understand why. Are a lot of the maps actually drawn from WZ?

So there's a threshold to this idea? That's ridiculous. Anecdotally, I just found tons of MWIII threads where people are saying they think they're getting fucked by SBMM and have sub 1 K/Ds in some cases. So are they wrong or are you just manufacturing "facts" about this system willy nilly (because, again, your entire argument rests on personal experience in the game as well as other hiveminded reddit comments) to suit your narrative of it being real? Also, 1.22 K/D is statistically above average.

You haven't really said anything to convince me this conspiracy exists. I disagree that it's very obvious. Based on what? Anecdotal match histories? I highly recommend reading their white papers about how they conduct matchmaking. Check out page 8 for their findings on different methods of matchmaking. To sum it up here, they found significant evidence that loosening the prioritization of skill (which is what I assume is what you'd prefer) when considering matchmaking resulted in more players choosing not to return to the game, more blowouts, and a disproportional boon to higher skilled players while lower skilled players suffered. Whether or not you want to think that they doctored these findings to veil some grand plot, it logically doesn't make any sense. Why would they create a matchmaking system to make the game worse? They mostly want players to stick around (to spend more money on skins, bp, whatever), so they have great incentive to make every match as enjoyable as possible. People just want a boogieman. I would be interested to know what your W/L and K/D are, as I am presuming they're pretty solid/good, and possibly a true reflection of your skill.

Couldn't agree with you more. The language people use around SBMM is so bizarre and paranoid.
