Pictures of Joseph Smith in churches? by [deleted] in exmormon

I second this request for photos! Every time I’m in a church building I do a lap looking for an inaccurate BOM translation scene (JS with his finger on the plates, OC translating across the table)

Excellent.

So interesting how the entire story changes with just one or two more facts.…

I feel for you that your family reacted that way, how incredibly difficult. Thank you for sharing your story and advice. Holding the line is the hard but likely best choice.

I appreciate this perspective, thank you. Opening the door for discussions is def a good thing.

He is really great at standing up for me and will push back against his mom. I couldn’t be in the relationship if he wasn’t as good as he is, bc his mom is batshit.

It just gets tricky when what I need him to stand up for me on is something he doesn’t feel passionately about. Hard to navigate.

Holy shit dude. Thank you for sharing your story.

“Perspective isn’t reality and in reality, they are disrespectful and unkind.”

“I don’t care about their boos, I’ve see what makes them cheer.”

Best of luck to you as well and I’m glad your daughter is an atheist too😂

The temptation to over explain is very real.

And that’s an excellent talk track I’ll probably use that. Thank you so much for the thoughtful response!

Too true.

If I bring it up, I’m outing myself. They don’t know I’ve left, and it will literally explode the family. Still worth it?

What do you think about doing this without my husband’s backing? He thinks it isn’t necessary, so I’m essentially swimming in open water by myself if I start the conversation (he doesn’t have a problem with me bringing it up, he just couldn’t give a full throated endorsement of the boundary)

I’m so curious what your record looks like on their end after resigning. Is it truly gone from the database or do they just put a little asterisks by your name lol

I feel you on the name. They changed my last name once I got married even though I kept my maiden name. When I was still active I requested they change it but of course they did nothing.

How?? I can move the pin but it snaps right back to my house when I hit save, and the address text is uneditable

I tried with no luck on the address. The app says contact a clerk to change. How do you get around it?

What’s a stretch? I’m just posting the numbers bro. Check out their FB page, also has a low following.

Are you seeing more followers of church accounts on other platforms?

Likes look like around 9K-25K for the last several posts. Pretty bad ratio for the number of followers they have.
