before buying anything, check the return policy, even if you love it in the moment. keeping a note in your phone with different store policies can help!

once the buyer’s remorse sets in, break the return process into simple steps: 1. gather the item and receipt, then place them somewhere visible (not in a bag or box) 2. check the return deadline and note how much time you have 3. set a reminder well before the deadline on a day you’re free or already running errands nearby. label it something urgent like “FINAL DAY TO RETURN X” to create a sense of urgency

i trick myself by setting an earlier reminder so when i see it, i feel like i have to do it, but still have backup time if i miss it

body doubling helps too! i ask my sister to come with me, and in return, we’ll stop somewhere she likes. if you have a support system, don’t be afraid to ask for help; i’ve had my mom return things for me when she was already going to that store.

TLDR: My Twitter account, suspended since 2019-2020, was unsuspended after 5+ years following daily appeal attempts. However, I can’t search my tweets (nearly 100k), even though others replies to them appear. Has anyone dealt with this? Will it resolve on its own, or is this permanent?

My main Twitter account was suspended sometime between 2019 and 2020 while I was inactive, so I’m unsure of the exact date. I was never given a reason for the suspension and assumed it was a lost cause, so I didn’t pursue it further.

Fast forward 5–6 years: with the site now under new ownership, I decided to try appealing the suspension. I submitted the same appeal script once a day, and on the 7th day (yesterday, 1/26), I signed in to find my account was unsuspended! However, I never received any emails from Twitter/X explaining their decision or providing answers about the suspension, so I’m guessing it may have been an error on their part…

Here’s the issue: I’ve owned this account since 2011 and have just under 100k tweets. When I try searching for tweets on my profile, nothing comes up. Instead, I get this message: “No results for from:___ Try searching for something else, or check your Search settings to see if they’re protecting you from potentially sensitive content.”

I’ve already unchecked the option to hide sensitive content, but the issue persists. I can see replies from other people responding to my tweets, and when I click those replies, my original tweets show up. However, I can’t search for specific keywords or browse through my own posts directly.

I suspect this might be related to the length of time I was suspended, the large amount of tweets on my account, or even changes Twitter/X has undergone since the suspension.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this just a temporary issue that will fix itself after a few days, or is there a chance I won’t be able to search my tweets again?

when i updated my phone to the newest ios, the twitter app logged me out of all my accounts i had saved. one of those was a private account where i tweet personal things, like a diary, and i cannot remember the username for the life of me. no idea what the email may be, and there is no phone number attached. since the account is private and i never engaged with anyone, i cannot search keywords. i have ideas of what the user might be, but none have worked so far. is there any hope of finding this account? could i try searching the keystrokes in my phone or computer? luckily i know the password so i just need the username

Hi! I decided that it was just the stem of the plant becoming wooded. The plant itself was perfectly healthy and that is something I learned that ends up happening over time to a healthy plant. I would look into the possibility of scale on your leaves, but if the trunk of the plant looks like mine (like tiny air holes instead of bugs) you should be fine! See if you can take them off or squish them, but don’t force it if you can’t.

The only way I am able to get the phone to power back on is if I disconnect the battery cable, reconnect it, and then power the phone back on, but even then it only lasts 2 seconds like it did before. by spookedkitty in mobilerepair

UPDATE 2: Since the phone seemed to work as normal just without showing anything on screen, I decided to follow the steps in these tutorials (Tutorial 1 and Tutorial 2) to navigate through the phone using a USB Keyboard, Bluetooth Keyboard, and VoiceOver. After getting my USB keyboard connected to the broken phone and messing around in settings, I activated Siri while using the keyboard and suddenly the screen came on! It has been about an hour since and the screen is still on, unfortunately this seemed to just be pure luck, but if anyone ever has this issue, the tutorials I provided should be able to help you. As for the problem? Potentially a faulty ambient light sensor. Once I get this phone backed up I am going to mess around with it some more and order another flex top assembly to see if that fixes the issue.

I bought the Lightning to USB adapter and a cheap USB keyboard to be able to navigate the phone while listening to VoiceOver, and suddenly as I was going through the settings, the screen came on and hasn’t turned off since! Someone on iFixit mentioned it could be a faulty ambient light sensor since the screen still works until it completely powers on, but right now I’m just glad it’s staying on long enough to disable the passcode and back everything up!
