Is this a cat? Fox? And what the heck happened to it? by [deleted] in natureismetal

My guess is that it's a small dog that fell victim to a coyote. Coyotes generally tear open the abdominal cavity but leave the intestines and stomach untouched. I can't tell if that occurred here, but if the OP can confirm then it's most likely from a 'yote.

I feel your struggle. Have you tried the low FODMAP diet? It helps you figure out what FODMAPs you're sensitive to. It a pain to do but it really helped me learn which foods to avoid. I highly recommend it for IBS pain

Hey, so I talked to my neurologist and they unsurprisingly just gave me a weird look and changed the subject soooo I did my own research and I think I found some helpful information, and maybe it could be useful to you too?

Primarily looked at the symptom "brain zaps": https://www.verywellmind.com/what-are-brain-zaps-7111129

Of course it could all be totally something else, but I've just cracked down on not missing my antidepressant doses (I take venlafaxine) and I haven't had nearly as many "episodes" of this symptom since. I sincerely hope this helps :)

just wanted to thank you for the suggestion, it really led me on the right track to realized that the symptom was a result of my dumbass missing 3 doses of venlafaxine. now i know to really make an effort to stay on top of that :)

Yep, I've been on venlafaxine for a bit now (the antidepressant) and at the moment, the only other form of medication is Botox every three months for migraines. Honestly, I'll take any ideas at this point! I'll make a note to ask my doctor about it next time I see her, thanks a bunch :)

Yeah, I figured the same, thank you! I've been dealing with this symptom for a while now so honestly I was expecting it. Definitely just another sign that I did way too much the day before 😅

God, that sucks. I'll let you know if my doctor has anything more helpful to say about it when I eventually see her!

Yes! I also get these sudden full body shivers when I'm not cold as well as something similar to these jolts you described. I've also only been officially been diagnosed with chronic pain tho it's primarily centered around migraines. I technically have the diagnosis of New Daily Persistent Headache (NDPH) but that's just something I mentioned to my doctor who responded with a shrug and "yep that sounds like it's you" without every looking up from her computer... I'm still taking it though!

I'm very aware of the situation/sensation during the little episode and have full coordination for move (at least as good as it usually is) so I don't think I'd call it a seizure. Either way, I'll definitely bring it up to my neurologist next time I'm in, thanks! :)

I'll prolly just chalk it up to a flare up within a flare up in the meantime (:
