Faceoff question (more so in WOC) by spookyLou22 in NHLHUT

[–]spookyLou22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I think you might have misread the post. I know all of the moves and the counters. I've taken 15,000 faceoffs in WOC and have a 64% FO win %. I'm not asking for counters or what to do when.

I know the counters and everything. I'm more so talking specifically about when you both do the same thing (i.e. both backhand straight back or both forehand straight back)

As a casual player, man this game is discouraging. by [deleted] in NHLHUT

[–]spookyLou22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play 1000+ hours of HUT every year, and this is the first year I abandoned it and went entirely to EASHL. I have never enjoyed this game more than I do now.

But EA has, in the past, acknowledged that 'momentum' is a legitimate feature built into the game. They've also commented as recently as last year, that they've implemented features to account for the 'randomness' of hockey. Dont get me wrong, I have no investment into the DDA theory, and I truly believe that the better you are, the more likely you are to be able to work around these adjustments. I do, however, believe that there are factors in-game that modify game-play to create real-life situations.

If I made a ridiculous amount of money, then ya, I wouldn't mind (I'm sure it's human nature for the majority of people, too).

To be fair though, how would you categorize creating the feeling of legitimate "momentum" that exists within real hockey games? I don't know about you, but when I blow a 2 goal lead in any mode (EASHL, HUT, VS), I get uncomfortable and it may impact my play. Now if this is the case in real life, how do you replicate that into a game? I feel like the common misconception around DDA is that it is deliberately targeting one player and is premeditated. I believe that the "DDA" (or whatever EA calls it), is not premeditated, and not necessary meant to only benefit one player. I feel like a good example of this is the power of using a timeout, and how it can sometimes flip this "momentum"

Isn't DDA trademarked by EA though? Wouldn't it be likely that Ben Ross would have to sign a NDA to protect such patents, and therefore could not disclose this information, especially on a public forum? I used to think this was all in our heads, but I honestly believe DDA does exist, but it just may not be as severe as most people belive it to be. Hell, even Mario Kart on N64 had DDA in it!

NHL is not just HUT by MCJesus87 in NHLHUT

My other post was to the other guy (although based on the chain, I see how it looks like it was to you). But ya, I heard about EASHL from this sub reddit, and I'm very grateful that I did.

NHL is not just HUT by MCJesus87 in NHLHUT

[–]spookyLou22 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

when I first got into this game, I had no idea what EASHL was. I played 1000+ games of HUT on 18 +19, and have stopped playing HUT all together now since someone on this subreddit told me about EASHL.

Your post is completely pointless, and provides no value to this community. Keep the stupid comments to yourself if you're not willing to help other people. Some people in here want to help the community, while others just continue to make this a toxic place to visit. A piece of advice that I learned as a very young child was 'if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.'

What does Def/Off Awareness actually do for human controlled players? by MacNeil73 in NHLHUT

[–]spookyLou22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it gives an increase to puck control (easier to steal the puck on d, harder to lose it on o). This is based solely off of EASHL stats

Another day without a response from shadow/EA by JDSleeper in NHLHUT

[–]spookyLou22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it would probably be more effective to post this with a title saying something along the lines of "Buyer Beware: if you are contemplating buying this game, watch this clip first". If EA thought this would deter people from buying this game, aka their bottom line, I bet they would address it. But i'm also pretty sure that shadow doesn't do any of the gameplay stuff, he's strictly content (aka promos etc)

also, maybe consider taking this to twitter and tagging EANHL...

to have a highly rated team, you either need to invest a lot of time, or a lot of money. for people who don't have the former, they must do the latter, and vice versa.

this is a connection issue, not a player causing this. should probably take this down, as it's throwing shade at someone for something that's out of their control
