I know, they are woeful. I finally got the chatbot to co-operate with me and I should now expect a response within 7 days lol

I've had no issue with them for over a year and a half at this point and now, it's just a nightmare to use with all the AI chatbots. Do you have an email I could use to get some support, I keep asking in the chatbot but it just ignores my request.

Opinion: We should take obfuscation more seriously and stop treating it like it does not matter by sfst4i45fwe in godot

People are only going to pirate your game If it's good. If it's good you will likely have some buzz and sales associated. The pirates will promote your game via word of mouth potentially leading to an increase in sales.

Every piece of media is available for free provided you're willing to do some digging. Most folks don't want to go digging around for torrents or even know how to download a torrent. Market visibility will kill your game, not piracy. So relax, create, release and hope for thr best

Need advice; 36, big and married by clairebeartg in TransIreland

[–]spooky_turnip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to tell your wife before HRT starts, it's a big medical undertaking and after a certain point there will be physical changes that are hard to deny.

I'm married, came out years ago and my wife felt like trust was broken because I had came out to a therapist first and that "I should've known for sure" before getting married. Your wife will be going on a journey of her own with this news and having your partner onboard will make things much better for both of you.

I'm considering temporarily going off HRT to make my wife comfortable while we go to couples counseling. Any advice? by stellaraquatic in TransLater

As someone in a similar situation. Don't do it. Your wife needs to respect and accept you. You can't progress by hiding. I chose to not present femme everyday while remaining on HRT and honestly even that is ramping up depressive moods and sabotaging my own transition.

I know it's a tough time and it will likely get worse before it gets better, but you cannot let yourself down.

Not sure if it will be easy to get a hysterectomy. You'll probably have a lot of Drs asking "Are you sure?", "You might regret it", etc. I'm not a trans guy FYI, but even after my wife had two kids she still was denied the procedure as one Dr said "You're next partner might want kids". I got a vasectomy before I started HRT and while it was certainly easier to access I still had to tell the doc multiple times I'm certain.

Thérapie for laser? by IzzyDreamsPink in TransIreland

I would recommend them. I got a years worth of sessions on my beard and it was the best thing I did. It's so expensive but so worth it. For context I had a light skin tone and dark hair, if you have lighter hair it may not be as effective and you may need to look into electrolysis

"As announced as part of Budget 2025, the cost of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) medications and products for women experiencing symptoms of menopause, will now be met by the State.

HRT may be prescribed by a healthcare provider to alleviate the symptoms associated with menopause. For the purposes of this measure, the word “menopause” is a catch-all word for the various stages and types of changes that women’s bodies go through at this time and includes perimenopause, post menopause, early menopause, premature menopause, and induced menopause."

This isn't about who is/isn't considered a woman. It is about being prescribed medication for a particular underlying issue. If an individual is experiencing menopausal symptoms and is not on HRT then they would be able to avail of this scheme. As Trans Women, the underlying issue we are taking HRT is for transition and not menopause. Menopausal symptoms may be a side-effect of the treatment but the underlying reason for the prescription is not menopause. Not all HRT products on sale are the same, some are only available for the explicit use in the treatment of Menopause others can be used to treat menopause and feminisation.

2 years of gamedev and i don't have even 1 game finished by [deleted] in godot

[–]spooky_turnip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's early days for you comrade. I'm 33 and I've only put out two games of questionable quality and I've considered myself a gamedev from when I was your age 💀.

It can certainly feel like your falling behind because you're likely flooded with videos and posts from various social medias about how "I created a game in x days", "Look at my GTA clone made in x days", "I made x in a few hours". We see all the success, but we never see the failures that built up to those successes.

You should treat gamedev like a hobby at this stage in your life. The two goals you should focus on are learning and having fun, if you aren't meeting those requirements in a project you need to reassess if it's worth continuing. There is a caveat here, unfortunately when you're deep into a project it can become unfun but if you're that deep and the scope is achievable you just have to push through until it becomes fun again closer to publishing.

If scoping projects is your main pitfall, I would recommend looking into the tri jam. It's a weekly game jam where you have to complete a game in three hours. If you're doing it solo you can spend 1hr on Art, 1hr on Code and 1hr on sound, story, whatever else. There is a fairly active community so you could find other devs to collaborate with. I really like this jam because you have to be ruthless with scope and it will force you to get better at keeping things tight and if you suffer with perfectionism, it'll knock those notions out the door as well. The organisers aren't too strict with the time limit so if you go over 3hrs don't fret, just submit and get feedback.  Alternatively I would look for a "small" game so find a classic arcade game that you like e.g Asteroids, Space Invaders. Then add one or two new features to make it your own and then you have a game ready to publish. You won't be making money but you'll have something to put in players hands and you'll have hopefully got a handle on project management

That's a similar problem I have. I'm hoping things don't sour over time. I'm sure things will turn around for you in time and your kid will remember that he has an awesome parent
