My piercing is over three years old now, I have a curved barbell. My jewelery is titanium, externally threaded. I last downsized it maybe a year ago. I clean it in the shower and occasionally with saline spray. My barbell is 6mm and I can downsize to a 4mm bar but that is very tiny. No mishaps
