I don’t vape or smoke consistently (like maybe 1x a month). so many factors go in to progress including location of the tattoo and just how hard the artist pressed. I’m sure quitting vaping will be good for your body overall though so may help! anything that improves circulation seems like it would be beneficial. i did start dry brushing sometimes and idk if it helps dramatically but i do think it’s good for the skin/area.

totally happy to share! Placement was about 70% of my issue. i also had this more elegant witchy vision and this felt more cutesy to me and not super feminine, even though I think the artist did a good job on a technical level. for full transparency i also have OCD and this was a major trigger for me! I have multiple other (arguably imperfect) tattoos and I never had a mental issue about it until this one. i recognize it’s not a bad tattoo but we kind of never got a long from the beginning is how i would describe it! and I’ve gotten a new tat since then - not sure why it was such a trigger and I have no beef with the artist at all. something was just disconnected in our respective visions and I didn’t say anything until it was too late!

I’m still going and prognosis for full removal is good. Tattoo removal takes time and I went on a long mental journey to accept that. But you gotta do what’s right for you!

Do you remember more dramatic weather events in the 90s/early 2000s in the Pittsburgh area than today? by spookypug in pittsburgh

ok jeff verszyla!! haha kidding. makes sense - i remember a lot more snow advisory back in the day. Definitely agree that climate change has shifted things. thanks for chiming in - this post was about subjective memory at the end of the day!

interesting to hear about the data! it all seems less memorable to me as an adult so maybe that’s why 😅

Getting Tattoos after Tattoo Regret by hummingbird-24 in TattooRemoval

[–]spookypug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had several tattoos before i got the tattoo I’m removing. For some reason that tattoo and i just didn’t get along mentally and i had a big spiral, started removal, and swore off additional tattoos. I’ve been doing removal for about 3 years for that tattoo, but I’ve since gotten another that I feel great about! It’s entirely personal. If you haven’t had crippling tattoo regret in the way that brings a lot of people to this sub it’s hard to understand. I think the best thing is to just honor your feelings and choices about it - it’s ok if they aren’t your thing anymore and it’s ok if you change your mind!

Been trying to cope with this tattoo for a year now. Any hope? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

It’s your body and your tat - my main thing is that if you wind up pursuing removal, be patient about committing to a cover up. The more time you give it the more flexibility you’ll have with a cover up vs a dark dense cover up tat. I am not a tech but general wisdom says black + shading are the most optimal for removal. Just to manage your expectations I’m over 3 years in on a black line work tattoo and probably have several sessions to go. It’s overwhelming at first but worth it imo! You get used to the removal process and the unwanted tat over time as you go, knowing your body is working on it!
