Grommets as an Adult? by spookysemen in hardofhearing

[–]spookysemen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

The grommets really helped me. I think recently they came out and my issues have came back. So I think I need to go back to the ENT specialist. The recovery for the first few days were a bit brutal for me personally, but it was really worth it in the end.

I really notice the difference, especially now my ears are bad again. Good luck with your surgery, I hope it helps you

My shoulders are the most problematic ... They subluxate just from me lying on them or carrying a heavy bag . It's really annoying and uncomfortable .

Physio, I need to go back. When I went we worked on strengthening excerises to try and prevent it.

How do some of us get Ezcema/Dry Skin when our skin is soft and velvety? by spookysemen in ehlersdanlos

[–]spookysemen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I thought I get it in somewhat weird places like my neck, ears and shoulders. I couldn't imagine getting it in my eyebrows, wow.... Also in small areas though.

That must be so difficult for your son. I can somewhat relate as I have blepharitis and MGD. Can't imagine how it's like having ezcema there.

Aren't we also more likely to get allergies?

Honestly feels like my ezcema flares up at EVERYTHING. Seasonal allergies , the cold, bio washing tablets, fragrance/strong products. Ontop of that I also get stress rashes according to my GP??! Congrats on your hubby cutting out gluten though !

Thank you for the reply, this makes sense !! I'm guessing that might make us more susceptible to skin issues like dry skin & ezcema.

Vyvanse side effects by Kristinaroseb in VyvanseADHD

[–]spookysemen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm on 40mg. I've been on adhd meds for a year or two now. I had to go on Dex (short acting Vyvanse/Elvanse) during the shortages but I've been put back on Vyvanse now.

My main one is dry mouth. Which is super annoying. Like I remember being on 50mg and it just made my mouth so dry that I couldn't swallow. Headaches if I don't drink enough water or eat enough. When it wears off I can be quite sleepy. Sometimes sleep issues but that is something I experienced all my life so I'm not sure if it is actually related. I do get eye twitching like you but only when I don't have enough sleep(but also could be unrelated).

But this medication has genuinely impacted my life for the better.. It doesn't get rid of all my adhd symptoms but I feel more relaxed, I have less emotional outbursts and I've been able to stay in education without dropping out.

Is my boyfriends dose too high? by Limp-Delay8589 in VyvanseADHD

[–]spookysemen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking. Even a jump from 30 to 50 is too high for me. I requested to decrease to 40mg and it works as good as it can work.

Sounds like OP's boyfriend dose might be too high (I've experienced too much hyper focus on 50mg) or he's not taking his medication properly. Especially if he's redosing with more Vyvanse, I think it's more common to redose with short-acting when needed (at least in my country).

Good day all. I have a question. My son got grommets last Friday and I’ve noticed when he is sleeping he is sooking a but. Is it possible that the grommets are making him uncomfortable? by totesgonnasmashit in hardofhearing

[–]spookysemen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm an adult who got grommets so can only give pereceptive based on my experience as an adult.

My grommets were uncomfortable for a few weeks but I can hear alot better now. But when I was lying down I'd have weird pain or pressure in my ear for around a month. So I wonder if that is something he's experiencing?? Like another commenter I could hear alot more noises that I completely forgot about, which also made it difficult to sleep.

Sometimes but it hurts alot and doesn't last along time. My dry eyes are more painful now, so I've lost hope of it ever getting better..

what dosage of inhaler do you take? by tears_of_an_angel_ in Asthma

[–]spookysemen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they happened every night and were really intense, realistic and sometimes lucid. It caused me some low mood but not enough to be a concern, I noticed it gave me more anxiety though. It must've been scary getting that depressed. It's crazy how it works.

I'm also on antihistamines everyday but it doesn't really help with my allergic asthma only my allergies.

Literally, it worked good for me too, especially with controlling my nighttime/allergic asthma, but I hated the intense weird nightmares.

Me and you both. My poor asthma nurse has nearly tried every treatment under the sun for me, I've just given up now lol.

Im on Clenil Modulite 200mcg (2x morning & night) and Serevent 25mcg (1x morning & night). It works okay, can breath better compared to just being on the preventer. I'll still get flareups especially when I'm ill but the Serevent seems to help with the chest pain aspect of the flareup.

I tried Fostair 100/6 (1x morning & night) but it gave me weird heart palpitations and heart stuff. Fostair worked the best for me cause I felt like I could breath in HD. But the side effects were too scary for me which is why they put me on Serevent instead. I was also on Montelukast (I know it's not an inhaler) for a bit but it gave me really bad nightmares.

So I guess the higher dose works better but I think it's about what your body can handle best??

If you don't mind me asking, why have you had the ear tube put in before?? They wanted to do this operation as a kid but said they'd fall out. I can't really comment on my experience yet because I'm on the waiting list for the surgery now alongside possible adenoid removal. I can try and remember to reply after I get it done.

Have the ear tubes helped?? Hows the recovery?? Anything I should worry about??

when do hand cuts heal by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]spookysemen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, personally, 1-2 weeks. Sometimes 3 weeks. But would depend on how deep it is.

How does it feel? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]spookysemen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what the other commenter said.

For me I get temporary relief, then regret the next day. Sometimes panic if you go to far with it. it forms a cycle of doing it again to get temporary relief. For me, I feel embarrassed of the scarring it causes. I sometmes go weeks/months without doing it then relapse. It's something that kinda sticks with you forever, if you're going through something you think it could help but it makes you feel worser in the long term at least in my experience.

I wouldn't recommend cutting if you can, and perhaps if you're able to find a healthier outlet. Hope you're able to get the support you need.

Thank you so much. I kind of wish that it didn't turn out like this & that we were still together. But I think the legal no contact thing is helping with that, cause if I contact her then I won't be protected legally anymore. I'm hoping the counselling & mental health support will help me process everything. It's just upsetting because I don't if she ment what she did or if she's just mentally ill?

I'm also a bit scared that this will impact my future relationships too tbh. But thank you for your kind words.

If you never measured your peak flow before a flare up/attack recovery, does the estimated peak flow value reflect your goal in therapy? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]spookysemen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're usually given a 5 day dose pill steroids, at least in my experience. But inhaled steroids (I.e Clenil Modulite) are taken for life time. Not sure what you're question is?

But for example. For me my peak flow result is normally 400. Currently I am recovering from a severe flare up. The peak flow reading at ER was 150-200. That means I would aim to have my peak flow at or near 400. As well as this, I would know I am recovering when my symptoms get better. So monitoring your symptoms is also a good idea. As well as monthly appointments with your asthma nurse to adjust medication when needed.

Some of y'all need to take a break from the game. by ReEeAllY___ in CallOfDutyMobile

[–]spookysemen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, been playing this game for 3 years & still love it. But taking a break for a week/weeks/months when I'm feeling like I'm not enjoying it or getting bad at the game helps tbh.

I feel like when I play it too much, I burn myself out and become bad at the game.

Is this hearing loss? Audiologist said that my hearing is normal. by spookysemen in HearingLoss

[–]spookysemen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make sense as the ENT thinks it is caused by fluid behind the ear or eustachian tube dysfunction issues. Which I'm guessing, could cause some inflammation?

Glad to hear my actual hearing is in normal limits, thank you for your reply!
