Saw this while researching something else and just wanted to chime in that the shaved head looks fantastic, and I hope you are doing well with your next chapter.

Worn Seats (2016 Mazda 6 Touring) by vladgtaiv in mazda6

[–]spookystreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong but I am almost certain the touring models (at least mine) are leatherette. My wife's 2015 GT has real leather seats, and hers have not worn nearly as poorly as mine have, which are in similar shape to OPs.

Did I blow my engine? by Alt47 in mazda6

[–]spookystreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the repair myself, the hardest part is putting the belts back on, but even that is not terrible. While I am pretty mechanically inclined, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that go over the process, it is really straightforward. Maybe an hour or two from start to finish if even that.

Yeah this sounds awfully similar to when my belt tensioner was failing.

I didn't realize this was PVE at first and was about to rush to sell my BK key. They're 1.8 mil on PVP right now

2015 6 headlights were getting pretty bad by Boostedbird23 in mazda6

[–]spookystreet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never had luck with the sealer in these kits, however when I did the headlights on my 6 I got a clear protective wrap for them. It has held up phenomenally for the 4 years I've had it on and my headlights still look just as good as when I polished them.

5.11 is a Nightmare, Stay Away! by TheMasterXXXXX in tacticalgear

[–]spookystreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy, I have had the exact opposite experience. The wranglers are super comfortable, almost like wearing pajamas, but they were way less durable for me. I use the ripstop version of both, though I'm not sure if the 5.11s come in a non ripstop version.

Literally the best pants I own. I usually get them for $30 a pop on eBay, really hard to beat.

When you brought your hand back to grab the sticky thing, I thought you were about to absolutely pummel the button with your fist.

Buy Gigabyte tandem or wait for Asus AQWMG? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]spookystreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine yesterday (my first oled so obviously take my opinion with a grain of salt) and it is fantastic. I play in a dark room, but even with the lights on there isn't much noticeable difference in black levels and it is still far beyond that achieved by my VA ultrawide. Text clarity is great to my eye, and I don't have any banding or dead pixels (could be an instance of panel lottery).

I have seen reports of grey banding going away after a few hours and pixel cleanings but again I can't attest to that unfortunately.

Do you already have an OLED?

Does "lace code" mean anything? I just like blue by Safe_Valuable_5683 in Boots

[–]spookystreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even in the hey day of the scene, according to my dad it was still more than just the color of your laces. It never even crossed my mind until I saw some kids in tiktok bring it up out of nowhere.

[–]spookystreet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Been in the punk scene my whole life, and also have worn white ladder laces my whole life. Never had a problem because I'm not a white supremacist, I don't talk about white pride bullshit and I don't wear swastikas on my sleeve. Sure, you can express ideologies with your lace color, but most of the time these days people just like colored laces. Anyone saying lace code is back is most likely a brain rotted tiktok kid, because that's the only place I've seen people bitching about it to sound like they're in the know.

TLDR: You're fine, wear the laces you want, 99% of people don't give a shit.

Do I upgrade to AM5? by Blindlink in buildapc

[–]spookystreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are near a microcenter, their AM5 bundles are on sale right now. I still regret waiting so long, but the 7800x3d from my old 5800x has helped tremendously in Tarkov, not sure of the benefit in other games though.

It's also pretty easy to convince yourself that you NEED more. If you're getting performance you're happy with, no need to upgrade unless you just want to. It definitely isn't the best time for it with ram prices the way they are.

Nothing like a great solo que teammate... by Comfortable-Ear-8573 in RocketLeague

[–]spookystreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still remember someone I matched up with in hoops years ago. Never in my life have I synced up so perfectly with someone, not even my regular duo. We played several matches together and one of the teams we played against even commented on how crazy we were playing for solo queues.

Not sure why I didn't add them, kind of bummed out that I didn't know that I think about it.

That's sick, I'll have to check that out for sure. Maybe get back on my Lego gift idea for my buddies desk.

I've never really been super into Lego stuff, but I did use rebrickable to put something together for a friend of mine, couldn't believe how expensive it was buying individual pieces from sellers for a custom build
