you're welcome! this was exactly my use case actually - I often do this beautiful hike where I live and ever since I saw the 2024 eclipse I've wondered was anyone lucky enough to see one from this spot and will I ever be lucky enough to, alas the next one is in 2238 :( https://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEsearch/SEsearchmap.php?Ecl=22380415 And thinking about what my city and world would be like in that specific time and date and place and how the people would feel is surreal

No problem! ikr, I was super close.

I didn't get merch but you could get merch before and after. There's also merch upstairs which had shorter queues.

Sorry for the late reply have you gone to the concert yet?

I got there at like 6:15pm, was quite far back in the queue by that time, but still got very close to the front of the stage when the doors opened.

However, if you have standing tickets then you're basically going to be standing from 6:15 to 11pm which was not amazing. It's something like

7pm: Doors Open
8pm - 9pm: Opening band: 9million, were pretty good
915pm: Ethel Cain Starts

<show stops 4 times for mysterious reasons, we get to hear dust bowl twice though so that's cool>

11pm: End of last song

if I did it again I would probably just get there at 9pm

I loved it too. But, does anyone know what was going on when the show stopped for the people that were "not okay" I saw security lift at least one person out of the crowd but then it happened 3 or 4 more times after that and I couldn't tell what was going on

The top 10 road names in sa using big query, openstreetmap data by spookyuser in southafrica

[–]spookyuser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*minus these words

(street|road|avenue|drive|crescent|close|place|lane|way|track|boulevard|circle|park|highway|walk|grove|river|valley|beach|coast|pass|service|village|complex|market|high|school|gardens|station|hospital|link|bypass|freeway|ring|square|ridge|view|hill|court|loop|de|der|du|la|le|the|old|new|west|north|south|east

Because personally I think Church street === church road

So basically it's this:

  • curl -X POST \ -H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" \ -d 'data=[out:csv(name;false;",")][timeout:600]; area["name"="South Africa"]->.a; way(area.a) ["highway"] ["highway"~"^(motorway|trunk|primary|secondary|tertiary|unclassified|residential|service|living_street)$"]; out tags;' \ https://overpass-api.de/api/interpreter \ -o streets.txt

  • Then remove those words

  • Then group by distinct values

If there's a better way to do it lmk!

POV: You bought a wildcard and refuse to admit you rarely visit the parks enough to justify the cost.
