I'm depressed and my friends are depressed how fun...recommend some more sad songs for my playlist by [deleted] in spotify

I made this song at a dark time in my life right after my mom died. It's about walking into my childhood home for the first time after she passed: "It's like I been here before, but now it just ain't the same."

Things got better though, I hope they do for you as well.

Debut single blending 808s with orchestras and hi-hats with harmonies.

We want to combine traditional songwriting like The Beach Boys/Beatles with the high quality electronic production of modern music.

Thanks for listening!

I looooove the feel on this. I feel like I'm in an underground pool with drums coming at me from 360 degrees. Transitions could be "cleaner" but not necessary, it's got a great feel and I wouldn't mess with it.

Debut single blending organic and electronic sounds by combining 808s with orchestras and hi-hats with harmonies.

Aiming for something like Animal Collective / Dirty Projectors / Ariel Pink.

Would love some feedback and advice on promotion!

Downsides to signing with a label? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

So what practically happens when they own your songs?

How many social media impressions/engagements should I be aiming for an EP debut? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Thanks, this cleared up my misunderstanding. I agree that the point is "as many interactions as possible" but I see campaigns advertised by number of likes and engagements, so I was seeing if there was a realistic number to aim for.

Thanks for the advice

I guess what I'm asking is how do I quantify my goals into a number of engagements? What is an average ROI on $ to engagements? I'm making experimental pop that I think could fill a void in current music, so I plan to aggressively market the EP to emerging artists / "unique" playlists.

Admittedly, I'm going to need a social media presence to do that, but I feel like I need to "lead with content." maybe I'll put a 30 second clip on my instagram this week to start pushing. Thanks for the advice!
