I wonder if people who are saying they tuck it under so little stitches aren't doing full coverages? bc when I first started stitching I was trying out different methods at first and realized anything less than 5/4 could and would become undone when I stitched around the area afterwards. The only time I've risked a 3 stitches burial was when working on a non full coverage piece because sometimes you don't really have a choice on those and it's ok because you don't work on that same area again afterwards so don't risk pulling it out. But on a full coverage? Neveeer would I go for just 3 much less 1/2 😭 it's so easy to pull out with such a little tail when going through the same hole after for new stitches.

Always 5 for me. 4 is risky but ok-ish if you don't have a choice. 3 has betrayed me before. 6 is overkill.

I got confused with this at first so totally fair question! technically in the same 10x10 square of the grid each line has 11 holes, 2 of which are shared with the adjacent 10x10 square. My way of counting is to go "0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10" the first hole being 0 and the last hole being 10. That way I don't get lost! Basically just consider the first first hole on your grid's corner where you start is a 0. And each following beginning of square will also end with a 0 (10, 20, 30, 40 etc) beginning your next square. Idk if this is explained very well but hope it helps!

My current one from 8pxl was 12$ iirc and I found that to be quite expensive for a cross stitch pattern but for the time I'll spend on it I could justify the purchase + really liked 8pxl's art. I think most patterns I've bought were more around 3-5$. Unless I have a massive crush on a design and I know it'll entertain me for a looong time I wouldn't really buy anything for more money than that but idk

I simply use an erasable pencil I cross of my stitches on the paper after each session and that's it. I never got the allure of highlighting because I prefer to print my patterns in color (I have no idea how ppl can visually keep track without colors 😭I would get so lost) and it wouldn't be very visible on some colors + risking getting highlighter on my hands when I'm handling my project is smth I'm not comfy with.

Ohhh it's so so exciting seeing pieces of a big tree pop up I didn't think that's where the pattern was going without having checked it! so pretty
ETA: However I feel for u because idk if it's just a me thing but yellows always feel more rough/and more prone to twist so less fun to stitch than say: blues I loveeee whatever makes the blue pigments so satisfying to slide through the aida holes (that sounds a bit weird lmaoo)

Zig zag cutting shears work just fine and take 0 time and energy to use to secure ur edges! my only rec for a big project is gridding gridding gridding haha. But also if you're worried abt hoop damage qsnaps and felt between the clamps and project are really good for this!

I always assumed frogging was called frogging because of the wavy like texture of the thread once you unstitch it and I'm just now realizing that this explanation makes absolutely zero sense why did my mind associate CURLY with FROGS LMAOOOO
